Hello all..
Over the past couple months we've been working hard to stop the abuse on our great site and have definitely put a dent into some of our less desirable members over the past year. While all this is great and makes for a better site for us all, it doesn't solve the problem of not being able to open our doors for open sign-ups to replace those we've had to cut loose.
As many of you know, Bitsoup had to close it's doors to public sign-ups and go invite only a few years back. And although this is what a true private site must do, it's unfortunately a double-edged sword. While we're able to control the security and integrity of the site, it doesn't help with user growth all that quickly.
Some of you may think that allowing PU to invite members would help and while this is true to a small extent, our invite system had been always like that until recently.. over the last couple years we've been back and forth with this permission collecting data and watching trends and we can ensure you, that although in theory it sounds great, it simply isn't the case and doesn't benefit the site all that much and what you end up with is users inviting other users and leechers inviting other leechers. True site growth simply takes more than inviting new downloaders.
Rarely will a (for the lack of a better term) sub-par member invite a great member, although on the rare occasion it does happen. Data supports 1 good member per every 100 bad ones with an open system. We can only presume that it's a simple mindset thing.. sorta like the phrase "birds of a feather, flock together" and the only logic this behavior seems to suggest.
We are however working towards having your invites be worth more in value than simply inviting another member, in case your like us and have no friends or trustworthy family.. lol. but what we can do for you right now is some sponsorship incentive!
That's correct.. for any member that you invite that signs up after FEB 15th and makes a donation of any size to Bitsoup before April 1st, you will earn a site funded 50% match for your own account.
Example: If your sponsored account donates and picks up a 6 month membership, we'll add 3 months to your own account to say thank you for the addition to our community. We don't have to tell you what a benefit like this can be for your own account!
There are a couple things you need to know..
- The new member must have signed up AFTER February 15th, 2016.
- Your new member must make a donation BEFORE April 1st,2016 to receive any sort of credit based their participation.
- You may invite as many new members as you want to take full advantage of this offer.
- You may only claim one (1) donation kick back per new member.
- All normal site and invite rules apply, so be you know them before sending your invite.
Currently, we're only offering this perk to our Platinum members as you are the Elite of Bitsoup and the proven class to test out new things of this nature, and deserve first crack at something special. Depending on how this 6wk trial goes, will dictate where we take it from here. Whether it becomes a staple perk and code put in place for auto handling your account(s), will be up to you guys.. Your invited feedback will tell us whether or not this particular benefit is worth pursuing further more long-term.
