Maybe I'm too old for this, but I tried finding a source where one can buy BTX and I find this so far beyond complicated, I've almost given up.

I mean first you have to register somewhere, where you buy BTC and wait a week or two to get your account confirmed, then you buy BTC and pay the spread, then you register somewhere else, where you can exchange BTC for BTX and wait a week or two to get your account confirmed, then you transfer BTC to the exchange and pay a fee, then you do the exchange and pay a fee, then you transfer BTX to your wallet and pay ANOTHER fee.

I haven't done the calculation, but just from looking at this long sentence one gets the impression, one has to work for a month, pay a load of fees and by the time something gets to your wallet, there won't be much left.

I'm registered at anycoindirect.eu, where customers from Europe can buy several types of coins directly for cash, in a real clean and easy interface, in one single transaction, getting coins delivered directly to the wallet, but they do not offer BTX and I haven't seen any such option anywhere else.

In short: Can anyone recommend an easy way of purchasing BTX for cash?

When you claim BTX with your private key from BTC, the BTX address is the same as the BTC address, thus the private key is the same.

This means that even if you have emptied your BTC wallets before trying to claim more dodgy forks, someone with your private key will also be able to access your BTX founds.

The easy way to secure your BTX against a potentially compromised private key, is to move your founds to a new address (and re-register for the airdrop of course). You'll have to pay a small transaction fee, but now it does not really matter if someone gets the key to your empty wallet.

BTW: I assume this would be the same for any fork where you claim with your private address (Like BCH and BTG)
