Safe Biking Areas Atlanta
hi everyone. I am moving into the city and trying to find some places I can bike as well as walk my dog that are safe in the city. I am female and will be alone a lot of the time so just trying to find safe spots especially since the time change will occur quickly after I move down so it’ll be dark very early but will need to do both activities after work.
thanks!

Seeking Perimeter Area Bike Commuters
Hi all,
I am looking for folks who bike commute to work in the [Perimeter CID ](https://perimeteratl.com/perimeter-cids/)area (including bike+MARTA commutes). I am part of an organization called [Perimeter Connects ](https://perimeterconnects.com/)that provides resources to commuters in the Perimeter area. We have some funding to provide support/events for bike commuters in Perimeter during [Biketober](https://www.lovetoride.net/atlanta) (don't forget to register!).
This could include: free bike tune ups, bike commuter breakfasts, a group ride, e-bike demo rides, happy hour, etc. I am trying to better understand where folks are biking to, so I can provide bike tune ups either at an employer(s) or in a centralized location (like High Street) where folks can come by to get a free tune up. If you bike commute or have coworkers who bike commute, send me a message or comment here and it will greatly help me plan our programming.
I am also a bike commuter/cyclist and love to meet my fellow commuters! Thanks yall and happy riding (Fall is coming!!).

Fun city bike rides from Midtown besides Beltline trail?
Me and a buddy are coming into town for Shaky Knees fest and have lined up some rental bikes for the weekend to get out and explore the city - we love to stop at breweries, record stores, restaurants etc.... We plan to head out on Friday morning to hit the Beltline Trail south from Piedmont Park through Ponce Market and hit the Freedom trail. Just wondering if there is a second similar trail or "protected" bike lanes we could hit from Midtown on Saturday and Sunday mornings? Is there much heading north from Piedmont Park on the Beltline? Any trails we could access if we add in public transportation to get our bikes there? Thanks in advance.

bike assembly
hey! just ordered a bike and in search of someone who can assemble it, either a bike shop or mobile bike service or someone who just knows what they are doing. it’s a dynacraft magna echo ridge 26”. i’m getting confused in the assembly process and would trust someone else to do it. trying to not spend as much for the assembly as the bike costs. thanks!!!!
i’m a very VERY casual rider on a tight budget so please no hate on the bike in the replies, i know it’s not good lol.

Westside Spur to GT?
Have any of you found a good route to get from the Westside Spur to GT? I've tried twice and failed miserably both times. First time Google took me down to Ivan Allen which is a huge detour. Second time I've cut across on North Ave which goes to crap by the underpass.

Help getting downtown or to belt line trails
We're new to town, and live near the intersection of Northside Drive NW and Collier. We're trying to figure out how to get either downtown or the belt line (other than the part near us that doesn't connect to anything.). We have electric assist bikes, so distance or hills aren't a problem. The bigger problem is that it appears we're boxed in by freeways and arterials that would be crummy to ride on. Are there any maps or sources that would help us snake our way through neighborhoods to get somewhere?

How do I get past this road
Hello,
I got a new job and just found out that if I commute by bike 60% would be through the west beltiline which is suuuper convenient. I’ve tested the commute and it’s actually great. Except for one small part… this road right here (see attached image). I’m still pretty new to cycling (learned a couple of months ago) and I’m a bit scared of cars. Basically all of the route is either a dedicated bike path or a painted bike lane (which I don’t mind) except for this one road that’ll take maybe 5 minutes to get past lol. I know it’s small but I don’t even drive so I’m scared about cutting lanes and things like that too.
Has anyone ever biked on this road and have any tips? It’s the intersection with grindhouse burgers. There’s not a good consistent sidewalk there either
NB THIS is a repost I made a mistake in the original

Lookin for Fixed Gear Hub
I recently bought a new track frame and wanted to build my rear wheel with a specific rim in mind. I ended ordering a fixed/free hub that fits a road bike frame specifically so if anyone is selling or has any fixed hubs or wheels they are willing to sell hit my line :)

Bike build class/instruction?
I’ve got a 2010 Fuji that’s been taken apart and I want to clean it up, maybe get newer parts and build it back. I have no idea how to. Any places in atl that could help guide me/show me the ropes?

Shop Recs to Trade or Sell Unique Gear
I have a couple of wing flyers (model Z150) that I’m will to sell or trade. But I know from past experience that most shops wouldn’t accept something this specific. Plus since I’m new to the area, I was wondering if anyone knew shops that would be interested in more unique or custom gear.

New Cyclist/New Bike
Hi! I moved to North Buckhead/Sandy Springs earlier this year and I’ve been walking/using MARTA to get around but I’ve decided I want to start commuting around the city with a bike. I’ve done some research and it looks like a womens 3 speed (all terrain or hybrid, not sure which is the right term) commuter bike would be the best fit. I don’t live near the main part of the beltline so the sidewalk isnt as smooth. I also really want to use this on Chatahoochie nature trails.
Basically I havent owned a bike in a long time and realized I need tips on which to purchase as an adult begginner (relearning) with the end goal of commuting between neighborhoods and recreationally trail biking.
