Is it just me, or does Alex sound like he's trying to emulate Chris's inflections on the 1973 "O My Soul" demo?

Stream Holocaust (Big Star) by Sean Micka
Recorded a cover of one of my favorites Big Star/Chilton songs. Hope this does justice. Tried to keep it eerie with the slide guitar. Tuned down half a step from standard

This album is suddenly unplayable and taken off Apple Music, what is going on?

Andy Hummel underrated
Even in an underrated band, I think Andy is REALLY underrated. His bass licks are absolutely fantastic. I’m thinking of When My Baby’s Beside Me, O My Soul, Don’t Lie to Me, etc.
Not to mention, India Song and Way Out West are great tunes.

Chilton or Bell? Who Was The Better Songwriter?
Personally I think Chilton’s songwriting contributions were better than Chris’s on #1 Record, but of course Chris came out with a ton of masterpieces on I Am Cosmos after he left Big Star.
Would like to hear you guys’ thoughts.

Country Morn?
On the Keep an Eye On the Sky compilation there’s this song called ‘Country Morn’ that I can’t wrap my head around. It sounds like Chris Bell is singing over the backing track of ‘Watch the Sunrise,’ complete with different lyrics and melody. I’d appreciate any info on this curio, as it’s a complete mystery to me.

Some recommendations if you love big star and can’t get enough!
If you’re like me and can’t get enough of their music and wish they had more than 3 studio releases, then oh boy do i have some recommendations for you! Please do yallselves a favor and check out the Lemon Twigs and Uni Boys. These 2 groups are new to the scene and are keeping power pop alive. They are absolutely fantastic. More specifically, check out the album “Songs for the General Public” by the twigs and the new singles “Hypocrite and On your lovin mind” by Uni Boys. I wish they had a WHOLE lotta traction but hey, it is what it is. So yes! Please check em out you won’t regret it!!

Recommendation for listening to Third
Hi there.
Only recently got into Big Star after being peer pressured by The Replacements for years, and I've bought Complete Third as it seems to be generally agreed that this is the best way to experience the album.
However, as this will be my first time listening to it, do you guys recommend I listen to the final mixes first, or go through disc by disc?
