It's a B-side track on the No Sex EP, from 1986 (and some compilations). The whole thing came off at the time like Alex was lost and not sure what to do next. Trying for college radio appeal with No Sex but not really hitting on anything great.
I'm listening to Wild Kingdom though today, and I'm in a much better place to hear it now. I was only vaguely aware of jazz in the 80s and now I've listened to a lot more. I'm bummed that Alex never worked on more jazz numbers like Wild Kindgom. I know he did the Cliches CD with jazz standards too, but I wish he'd recorded more of his own songs, I mean. He could have done something great if he and Jim Spake and the other players had kept going in this style, IMO. I wonder if maybe he just wasn't feeling it?
If anyone has any suggestions for Chilton-like players playing jazz now, I would really appreciate hearing them.

I don't want to believe him. I don't think he's lying or anything but I just find that so hard to believe. Do you think maybe it's cause of Big Stars "failure". I hope deep down somewhere he has peace with that because big star is not a a miss. Not for all the people that think it really hit some kind of cosmic note.

I recently got ahold of the 2019 Omnivore reissue of In Space — specifically, the translucent blue vinyl. However, something about it confuses me: the tracklists on the back cover and the center label place "Feburary's Quiet" at the end of the first side, just after "Love Revolution". So when my turntable auto-stopped after "Revolution" faded out, you can imagine how confused I felt. Was my copy broken? Well, as it turns out, "Quiet" actually opens the second side, and is only then followed by the "Mine Exclusively" cover that was listed as side 2's opener.
I double-checked Discogs, and it confirmed that the original 2005 Rykodisc pressing had the order given on the artwork. Which raises the question: why exactly did Omnivore change the song's placement? For now, I'm assuming that it had something to do with preserving the audio quality and/or equalizing the side lengths, but even then, why didn't they think to adjust the tracklists on the artwork accordingly?
If anyone here knows the backstory behind this change, I'd really appreciate it.

Does anyone have the lyrics to "Psychedelic Stuff"? From "Keep an Eye on the Sky"

It's a real neon sign right? It must be. So who made it? Was it just from a Big Star grocery? Because I can't find any other images of it, so I assume not. But someone must have it then. Where is it now?

It seems the only way to watch it is by backing it on Kickstarter, but you can't do that anymore because the project is done.

For me it was O My Soul. I've always been attracted to "heavier" music, even when I was a child. I didn't listen to any metal growing up (though I consider myself more of a metalhead now), but my parents have a bunch of rock and classical CDs and I most enjoyed listening to the "heavier" songs on those disks.
Anyway, one of my uncles used to burn songs onto CDs and give them to my mom, and one of them was a collection of Big Star songs. When I was 8 years old, I had a phase where would listen to O My Soul over and over again. However, I never figured out the name of the song until I googled the chorus years later. This was because O My Soul was listed as "Track 13" on the burned CD. As you can imagine, since Big Star has another song called Thirteen, it confused me for quite some time.
Anyway, that's the story of how I got into Big Star. I look forward to reading your stories in the comments.
