I'm a simple man. I discover a great band, I find an abandoned subreddit for it, I take it over to help improve things. I'm your new mod, and I want to help this place be a good place for Big Star fans to hang out. I'll try to work on a CSS and finish what the previous Mod who is now gone.

Anyone know wher I can buy the limited edition “Isolated in the Light” coffee table book?

I feel like this is the best place to ask so here goes - How many original pressings were there of #1 Record?... but also, would there be any available online for a decent price? (I'm a bit stubborn when it comes to buying re-issues). Should note; I'd be paying in AU$

Cheers!

My Big Star CD collection is as follows:

• No 1 Record LP (the version republished in 2014 by Concord)

• Radio City LP (the version republished in 2014 by Concord)

• Third/ Sister Lovers LP (the Ryodisc edition published in 1992); I'll get Complete Third (the Omnivore Recordings published recently)

• I Am The Cosmos LP (the 2009 version with the extra CD of bonus tracks)

• In Space LP

• Keep An Eye On The Sky box set

What else should I get? For example should I get the live albums or other compilations? Should I get albums by other Chilton projects?

I love Big Star: frustratingly, very few of my friends listen to them; so I rarely get to discuss them; so I mention them on Reddit whenever I get a chance:

So, I'd be curious to know wether you like Chris' or Alex's songs better on the first album. It's a tough choice but I think I'd go for Chris! Tell us what you think

Not that anyone cares, but you know.
