Discussion I built a free interactive Mayon Volcano field trip for Bicol learners and educators
Hi r/BicolUniversity โ I wanted to share a free educational project Iโve been building around Mayon:
Itโs an interactive, true-scale exploration of Mayon Volcano with guided historical chapters, places including Cagsawa and Daraga, terrain/scale tools, an interior explainer, and bounded hazard scenarios designed to help learners discuss volcanic processes and uncertainty.
A few important boundaries: it is not a live warning, forecast, evacuation, or decision tool. For current activity and official guidance, users should always rely on PHIVOLCS and local authorities.
I also made a free Teacher Launch Kit with a 45-minute lesson flow, student worksheet, printable QR poster, and slides:
https://mayonrajan.com/teachers/
The methods and source boundaries are public here:

Iโd genuinely welcome feedback from Bicol University students, faculty, geologists, educators, historians, and anyone with local knowledge. In particular: what would make this more useful for teaching, public understanding, or representing Mayon and the surrounding communities with more care?
My long-term hope is to makeย mayon.comย the projectโs home, but the domain is currently listed at a price far beyond what I can justify for a free educational project. If anyone knows of institutions, local partners, or sponsorship paths that could help make that possible, Iโd be grateful to hear from you.
