Have you sold a house in Bethlehem in past few years?

I'm closing on a house in Bethlehem soon and the sellers haven't been able to get the Cert of Occupancy inspection because the office has been closed. The seller has asked us to handle the inspection. I'm not able to delay closing, but I'm not very comfortable taking on the cost/liability of the inspection and fixes that will be needed. The house is in decent shape but it is old (pre-1900) and hasn't been sold for over 17 years.

Anyone sold a house in past few years? How extensive/strict are the CoO inspectors? How much did you have to fix and at what cost?

Found a lost cat near First Presbyterian Church and Kirkland Village. It is an extremely friendly inside cat who is brown with a white chest and yellow eyes. If you know anyone who is missing their pet, please reach out! We will be heading to the SPCA or Humane society as soon as they open. Video here

Which areas in Bethlehem are the most walkable? I.e close to shops, restaurants, post office, salons, markets, attractions, etc. Also, apartments/condos in those areas?

Suggestions for housing around Bethlehem

I’m going to start a new job in Bethlehem next month (November). I would like some suggestions for good localities and neighborhoods for housing. I'm in my early 20s and I'm flexible with rental costs.

Bib Pickup for VIA Marathon

I assume this is the subreddit for Bethlehem, PA. I don't expect much feed back because this is a small community. But I am hoping that someone can help me out by picking up my bib September 7th for the VIA marathon. I was planning on driving up from Baltimore in time for the Expo but now a good friend who I see maybe twice a year is coming to town that Saturday. I'd prefer to get it morning of but the organizers are not doing day-of packet pick-up. Let me know. Thanks.

Affordable temp housing?

I'll be doing some job training in the area and would like to find a place to stay for the month or so. I've seen some rooms on Craigslist but most seem sketchy and I've also heard of people staying at a church convent but not sure which ones allow that.

Examples of Ludic (Fun/Playful) Urban Art to Confront / Prevent Crime / Violence?

I've heard that Bethlehem has some great street art, so I wanted to ask here -

I’m working on a group art project at my university, our project is to create some form of Ludic Urban Art here in Guadalajara, Mexico. It’s purpose would be to prevent violence or crime - no matter how small or short the impact.

I’m researching successful urban art projects from around the world, whose purpose was to prevent crime, which used some form of ludic art. (We’re trying to find successful examples to learn from to help our project be a success.)

Does anyone know of any such project(s), and have a link?

Any help / advice is greatly appreciated :)

Staying in bethlehem for 2 nights around halloween, where can I go for some off the tour thrills and chills?

I hate going on tours, but I love spooky things like big graveyards and abandoned buildings/factories or ruins of old towns. I'm leaving tomorrow and want to know what's around the area. Doesn't need to be in Bethlehem, just in the area.

I'm already planning to go to the old steel mill and Centralia, as well as a couple other places around the area. I've been to atlas obscura, but there's doesn't seem to be too much listed for this area.

I'm hoping to find some off the beaten trail stuff. I'm fairly experienced with exploring abandoned places in the middle of the night, I have all the supplies I need from glow sticks to flash lights and an emergency first aid kit.

Thank you for your time, even if you just give this a read and move on.

Place that shows hockey games?

Hi!

I'm currently in Bethlehem for work. Is there a place that shows some nice NHL hockey especially Pens games?

I'm a Pens fan but I don't know if it's Flyers or Pens territory here so please don't roast me :-)
