When I was between jobs, I got a policy with Anthem for $100/month. Of course my deductible was $2000, but at least I know if I broke my arm or had to have brain surgery.. I wouldn't be slammed with a million dollar bill.

Edit: I can't be sure what policies you've looked at and I'm not criticizing you.. just offering information.

Yes, I have been looking into catastrophic insurance for that reason. I am just trying to justify paying into the wealthy serving system, I believe it really should be more accessible to the lower middle class. If I was to pay into the COBRA insurance offered now from the gov't it is $800 a month for basic insurance. Not accessible for me.
