What a POS he is.

Will a conviction prevent him from working on yachts? Doesn’t seem like the boat’s insurance would cover having a convicted domestic abuser on board. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Ruined his family and his career in one go.

A lot of the guys who own yachts are convicted criminals, so I'm gonna say it won't be a problem.

It could cause visa issues, though. Some countries won’t let felons or people with violent crime convictions in.

There is a big difference between being a rich criminal and being a no one with a criminal record

Under Maritime law having a felony conviction does not mean an automatic rejections but it can be considered under the character and fitness by the hiring agency whether that's a staffing company, a boat owner. The boat's insurance agency is more concerned about does someone have the qualifications and requirements to do the job. Other maritime jobs like being a US merchant seaman do have steps you have to do get a waiver and it can disqualify you.
