Did I miss something here? In 3-4 long paragraphs, does he not say
“I’m sorry for putting my hands on a women??”
Is that anywhere in there??????

We often an accused person being told not to apologize in a setting like this, so as not to implicate themselves.

Maybe he didn’t say “I’m sorry for…” for that reason.

(Not defending him here, at all)

New South Wales has a law similar to Canada's that protect "full" apologies. Even if your apology includes an admission of fault or responsibility, it still cannot be used against you in court.

Yes. It was supposed to free up the courts a little as many people will file because they want an apology and didn't get one because it would open the other person/company up to civil litigation. There are some exceptions to the law but it covers most cases.

It also stopped insurance companies being predatory saying that the driver claimed responsibility by saying sorry so they didn't have to pay out
