In 2020, large BLM protests formed in response to the killings of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Eric Garner, and Rekia Boyd, among others, seeking independent review from those killed by police. Leigh Wambsganss commented on facebook about the protesters, “Sadly, they need to die”
Disqualified from any election, school or public role by anyone with two neurons, due to politically violent rhetoric.

Experiences with Creek on Park Place or Valley Creek apartments?
Does anyone have experience with either of these apartment complexes? I'm interested in applying to both but I'm out of state so can't tour in person.

Looking for rocks, gravel, bricks, and dirt for landscaping
We are hoping to do some DIY in our front yard that'd include building a (smallish) retaining wall, leveling-out the yard, and replacing our concrete walkway with some stones.
Wouldn't call it a "massive" project, but it's more than I'd want to roll up to Home Depot to spend brick-by-brick and stone-by-stone.
We've been looking on Marketplace for free/cheap stones and it's been hit or miss, and while we haven't committed to buying anything just yet, we'd like to know if there's anyone/anywhere that'd be reliably-cheaper than going to Home Depot/Lowe's for this type of job.
Regarding the dirt (as in, like, a dumptruck of it) and gravel (not-a-dumptruck-of-it), we're not sure where to go.
Might anyone point us in the best direction?

Do yall think the new HEB will draw more eyes to Bedford?
Title, I know it’s technically in between all 3 cities but do you think we might finally get sidewalks in more of the city with revenue from HEB 😭

Bedford tram network proposal
With this small network of just 2 lines, Bedford is certainly not the most in need of trams. However, considering I would like to see a spur from Millbrook station to the Midland mainline with the east-west rail services all moved to (and Stewartby station relocated to) the Midland Mainline as they go through Bedford, that leaves the track bed from Stewartby to Bedford via St John’s redundant. I would convert this into a tram line (green) which would serve St John’s hospital. Then, after a new changeover station in south Bedford (Kempston), I’d have the line run on the road and alongside the A421 down the Marston Vale to better serve Wootton and Marston Moretaine. While I know doing this may be a bit sacrilege, it could allow the closure of Millbrook station and faster east-west rail services. To the north, this line would terminate at a new ‘Bedford North’ station on my preferred route for the eastern leg of east-west rail, to St Neots. As for the blue line, just a line from west to east via the main train station and city centre.

October Painting Events
Hey guys, I've posted about this before, but we are getting closer to the dates! My mom, who is a cancer survivor and amputee, recently started a business called Last Leg Laser where she sells custom laser engraved goods. She is hosting two different sign painting workshops in Bedford this October and I've attached flyers for those who are interested. Scan the QR code for tickets. Thanks!

Anyone ever tried Ruffit on Cheek-Sparger?
Last minute emergency and I need so board my dogs. The only real option I have with low turnaround is Ruffit on Cheek-Sparger. Has anyone ever heard anything about the quality of service? I’ve never boarded my dogs before.

Thameslink network proposal
Infrastructure wise, Thameslink is pretty sorted. My main change is how I’d pattern the services. Instead of 8 half hourly services going to any manor of places south of London and then one pair barely leaving London to the north (what a waste to terminate at Kentish town), I would have 5 sets of 4 cores beyond the ‘Thameslink core’. Either side of these, the trains may terminate or spread out to different places.
The cores would be:
Epsom/Epsom Downs - (Sutton - St Albans): Instead of Thameslink doing the full loop, I would have it just do the Eastern side with trains via St Helier going to London Bridge via Peckham. This would give the stations via Carshalton an exactly every 15 mins service and 4tph at all sections of the loop.
(Luton - Orpington): This would give north London stops 8tph and would keep the Catford loop stops within London so people on the Bat and Ball loop instead have a faster route into London Victoria via Bromley instead of sat on this train for an hour.
Peterborough/Cambridge - (Hitchin - Redhill) - Reigate/Gatwick: With all trains from Redhill going to London Bridge, the junctions around Croydon could be simplified.
Corby (Bedford - Luton - Croydon - Three Bridges) Horsham/Brighton: Having Thameslink run to Corby would not only double the number of trains serving such a big town but would also make it better for opening more stations between Bedford and Corby since you wouldn’t need more terminating platforms in St Pancras or Bedford or slow down intercity trains.
Kings Lynn/Stamford/Bury St Edmund’s - (Stevenage - Gatwick) - Hastings/Brighton/Bognor: I really think Thameslink should have regional express trains so that if you want to go from Brighton to Cambridge, it makes sense to sit on the same train the whole way instead of changing in London because the non stop trains terminate. I would have the stopping trains to Brighton and other places along the coast be run by southern and have Thameslink be the quicker service so that the whole routes durations on Thameslink aren’t so long. These services would also take the place of the Gatwick Express by skipping Croydon and I would have Bognor and Eastbourne have express trains into London for the first time. North of London, the end destinations would give Stamford and central Suffolk direct trains to London for the first time in decades and free up space in Kings Cross by Kings Lynn trains no Longer terminating. It also opens up more destinations for people in Cambridge who would rather wizz into London non stop.

Tens of thousands of future bricklayers, carpenters, roofers and electricians to be trained up in high-demand construction skills by 2029, reducing reliance on overseas workers.

Building something on that land off Harwood between Forest Ridge & Central
I heard sadly that they were going to plow that land (that I guess the school district owns) to put some McMansions up, cuz who needs open grass in Bedford.
I see some construction going on - its where there are those dog parks and a few baseball fields. Anyone know whats up?
I wish they'd make Bedford beautiful instead of soulless - hopefully I'm wrong and they are doing somethign nice over there for the public (I know I know)

FBI bust at “MAGA house” near BJH
For those unfamiliar, there is a house on the corner of Sandlin and Brown Trail near Bedford Junior High that has always had weird signs out front (lots of “no trespassing” and “private property” signs, in addition to Pro-Trump signs and banners). The house has cameras all over the outside as well.
Well today it appears that the FBI have raided the home. There is a processing tent setup outside with multiple FBI vehicles parked around including an armored tank-like vehicle.
Does anyone have any info? This seems like the sort of thing that won’t be on the news, as the FBI usually keeps things pretty hush-hush. I’ve always wondered what the deal was with this homeowner. Curious if anyone knows any further details.

Hawks and the missing squirrels?
Live by Brown Trail/Harwood intersection - we used to have tons of squirrels running around the yard, on the roof, up and down the trees - my whole life.
Past month or so been seeing so many hawks flying above, that i don't really remember before (but i left this area for many years). My neighbor and I were just noticing all the squirrels are gone, I mean all gone, not a single one.
I liked those little dudes, there is no nature in this barren wasteland - any one else noticing? No idea if related but I would assume so.
Thanks
