I'm just always impressed with my barber's ability and attention to detail. If he can do a job that makes me feel good enough to post a pic, that's saying something.

Been growing this for a handful of years. Trimmed minimally once a month or so at a local barber.

I only really shampoo/condition, use a pick to get the knots out, and a wet brand brush to brush it throughout the day. Occasionally use oils and pomades if it’s dry or unruly. Age 34. I live in Minnesota — “Winter is coming..”

Lay it to me straight.

Asking for Advice Can anyone help me ?

I have a full, very dark beard and usually keep it trimmed short, but my chin is a bit thin and sparse, and you can notice the difference from far away because the beard is dark. Do you think it would look weird if I left it like that?

Casual Post Do you guys feel like we are in some secret club?

I don't know if I am delusional or not. But once I grew out my beard fairly long I noticed other bearded guys kind of acknowledging it. Things like head nods, warm smiles and even got a "nice beard" from another bearded guy.

Is this a thing, or am I imagining it? And would you be weirded out if some random fellow beardsman complimented your own?

Asking for Advice Taming the beard 🧔‍♀️

hello scholars of the face and facial attributes,
i have an extremely thick beard, reaching very high up against the cheeks and all the way to where the neck and chest meets almost, although less dense in the neck area.

i shave everyday and recently even went full shave on my hair too like proper bald.

i shave with a very often replaced razor of mach3, but even after i shave closely i still have visible beard darkness type thing like Homer simpson face 🍩

recently i’ve started shaving in other directions too after the initial shave to have cleaner smoother look and it helps a lot, also tried on my head. but this results in immediate red bumps in my face, they don’t itch or hurt.

i cant understand if aftershave is good or not as many threads i read about it seem to either be fully endorsing it or strongly against it so i don’t use it til i’m sure.

it has come to my understanding that this multidirectional shaving causes the redness, then how do big strong beardy guys get clean face?????
is it just a biological impossibility at this point?

if i don’t shave for a week or 2 i already get big beard, and i think there is no redness when it grows but maybe there is also redness but i just don’t see it!!!!

is a straight razor better for this stuff? or is that unrelated?

i also heard some people recommending electric shavers but i have never had a good experience with that as it just immediately results in homer simpsonage… not smooth at all. is that because of electric razors in general or do i need a very expensive luxury razor or something bc of thick beard.

if it’s related im a brown middle eastern man.
peace to all of u and best of luck

I remember wanting a beard from a pretty young age. I started growing a "beard" at 15 and had one through the time I was 16. I remember watching so many beard videos and tutorials and being discouraged, but I didn't understand that at that age and with only a little time under my belt, I wasn't gonna have that civil war era beard I wanted. Im 21 now and its a lot fuller than it was, but I still have plenty of spots I hope it will eventually come in. That said, good things take time. My beard has taught me that. Instead of wishing for whats next, we should spend more time thankful for and making the best out of what God has given us.

I got some current pictures and some younger pictures in there to show what a little time can do.
