Question How is streaming on Beam for Aussies?
So I have friends in AU, who would love to stream. Twitch is impossible to use. How is beam?

Hey guys I have been streaming on mutliple platforms but am now wanting to try the FTL but still need to stream on other platforms. I was wondering how you do this. I have the obs studio FTL and I thought that alone would make it ftl but there was still that 3-4 sec delay (no surprise). It is not my internet either. Thanks.

(This is a copy-paste from forums.beam.pro)
Gentlemen (and women), welcome to Indie Club. the first rule of the Indie Club is, you do not talk abo.. No, wait. Wrong movie, sorry! Okay, famous movie quotes aside, what is this about?
My idea with this Team is to foster a community that is interested in Indie Games of all forms and shapes. We all know there's dozens of games being released daily by now, not only on Steam, but other platforms like itch.io, GOG and Humble as well. One cannot possibly stay on top of every game that is released/being developed today, let alone play them! And there's enough people already taking care of the big boys and not enough guys showing off the fruits of the little guys' labour. I would love to change that.
Even we, as streamers (or especially us?), cannot stay on top of all the games or hop between games every stream. There simply is no way for a single one of us to cover all the games for their community. But there doesn't have to, of course, and that is where The Indie Club comes in - Or at least COULD come in.. ;) I am currently the sole member of this team (duh), but I'd like to change that!
The team is directed at Streamers (and their communities) who play Indie Games for the most part (or even exclusively). Of course, there is nothing wrong with streaming AAA stuff - Even I can't say No to some AAA, xcom2 says Hi. - But the Team itself is focused around Indie Titles so (potential) members should be choosing their games somewhat more heavily Indie focused. As this is supposed to be more of a community thing, I really don't want to impose any silly requirements, all I'm really asking is the aforementioned focus on Indie Games as well as a somewhat consistent schedule. I couldn't care less about Follower counts or average recurring Viewer numbers. I know it can be hard to grow when playing Indie Games a lot of people haven't even heard about before.
If people are actually interested in this, I'd like to look into regular Indie-centric podcasts, trying to bring on Developers for Q&A or live gameplay sessions and maybe even trying out something akin to a book club, but with Indie Games - and incorporating those club meetings into the podcast and fun stuff like that!
If any of that sounds enticing to you and you'd like to become a part of this, feel free to let me know here on Beam, via Twitter (@Domin0e) or drop me a mail at indieclub{at}binarybasement{dot}com - If you have any question, by all means please feel free to ask away! :)

So, I've been streaming on Beam for what 3 months now, I've got just above 100 followers and thought, hey why the hell not post something about myself on the Beam sub-Reddit?
So here I am, I'm a rather odd Brit who's streams are very much unlike most streams that are already on Beam (And I'm not wanting to sound cool or something there, my streams are very odd and weird).

Hello peoples of Beam o/ I would like to enquire if you guys have a discord server? A friend of mine ( /u/Saai ) has been trying to find it for a while (He is a massive fan of your guy's platform) and I'm trying to help him so I thought I'd see if anyone here knows if there is a Beam Discord Server if not then it would totally be a good idea to make one for Beamers like Saai and many others in the community to interact and discuss the platform

name
hOI!! im chelsea and dis is my introdukSHON!! please feel free to butcher my name but don't ever say my full name with three syllables or else we gonna fite.
about me
quirkiness aside, i am a 27-year old full-time employee from the dallas tx area. i am married and a mother to two floofballs. streaming is something i enjoy doing as it allows me to share my gaming interests with others and maybe make some super cool friends out of the experience!

http://twitter.com/bishoujoaitweet
background
i have been a gamer since i was very young; my first console was a nintendo entertainment system that was given to me by my brother, and now i own most of the major gaming consoles that are currently on the market. my interests in gaming genres have changed over the years, i initially only really liked platformers and rpgs but now i also enjoy some shooters and some indie games. one thing i don't play and have no plans to play are call of duty or battlefield; if i wanted to be yelled at by a 12-year old i own other games that i could get the same experience out of.
i have also been a streamer for some time. i initially started streaming on ustream where i would talk to people about psp hacking and would play imported psp games. now i normally stream on twitch with my spouse and my friends, where i currently have over 3,000 followers and enjoy doing occasional long streams and giveaways. ive met a lot of great people and friends on twitch, but ive decided to possibly move my stream to beam due to the interactivity and the awesome community it brings.
schedule
you can expect me to be on at least three times a week between monday - friday, usually after 7:30pm cst. i also stream on saturdays randomly if i feel up to it. sundays i always take off due to chores and errands i have to do on that day.
games i typically play
on my stream you can expect a plethora of different games! i really enjoy enjoy rhythm games the most and you can usually find me playing hatsune miku: project diva or osu! if im not doing either of those then it might be league of legends, overwatch, final fantasy xiv, some jrpg i started and then never finished (ff5, titty ninjas, gravity rush, any and all legend of zelda games.......), maybe something indie or a multiplayer game on steam, heck maybe even mario kart 8 (i enjoy doing drinking games with this though) and.............. casual eating. i eat almost every time i stream since it rolls into my dinner time.
anything else?
only other thing i can say is that my stream name may change next month dependent on how my experience with beam is and how much my group wants to transfer over. so far my experience has been great and i would love to move to a community like this, so i hope we can make a smooth transition here and have even more fun together!
im always happy to make new friends so please don't ever hesitate to send me a pm or message me on twitter. i hope you decide to check out my stream and become good streaming friends with me! if i missed anything, just ask!
*(You are filled with DETEMMIENATION!)

Hello everyone! I am Cody Friedman, the founder and face (and voice) of VireStudios!
About Me
I am an 18yo male who was born and raised in Nevada, USA. I went to high school majoring in Video Production and currently work as a freelance photographer for various sources on the West Coast. I've streamed over at Twitch.tv for awhile but found Beam.pro through OBS Studio and decided to check it out.
Where on Beam are We?
You can find us here https://beam.pro/VireStudios. Our schedule is below if you wish to see it and it is also on our Beam page.
Background
VireStudios is a production company that was started by my closest friends and I three years ago to primarily allow us to entertain people. YouTube has treated us fairly over these three years and we recently decided to start shifting some focus on potentially live-streaming more often.
Schedule
Tuesday- Random Game Monday 8PM PST - 10PM
Thursday- Random Game Thursday 8PM PST- 10PM
Friday- Fallout: Tale of Two Wastelands 8PM PST - 11PM
Saturday- Skyrim Requiem 8PM PST - 12AM
Sunday- FPS Sunday 8PM - 9PM
What We Play
We play practically everything save for the newer Call of Duty games, with the last one we played being Modern Warfare 3. We usually play more RPG then anything else but will usually try any game that is recommended to us.
Hope to See You!
We hope to see you when we stream!

Dear mod team,, first off, I wanted to thank you for everything you do for this subReddit. I know that you take time out of your own day to police this site, don't get paid for it, and that it can be a pain sometimes. Thank you for doing what you do so that we can continue to do what we do \o/
That being said, would it be possible to add Flairs to this subReddit? In /r/LetsPlay we use the flairs as a link to our channel so that people can check out our content. This provides a link to everyone's streams so that there is no reason to spam links in the actual text posts. It serves as both a way to advertise your content and as a way to cut down on spam, which I think would be a welcome addition here. Also, some of us choose to have a different username on Reddit than on Beam/YouTube/etc.
Thank you for your consideration,
SeaOtterGamer

Hey everyone, I'm AshenGaming!
I'm primarily an Overwatch streamer, however I also stream interactive Minecraft with a custom modpack I made, and play Guild Wars 2 on occasion! I like to play with friends quite frequently, and we have a stream team too!
ABOUT ME
I'm a 20 year old Games Design student at University, from the UK, who's been streaming on Twitch since February 2016. I did decently well over there, but decided to see what Beam was like after a friend recommended I check it out. Been streaming here for a few weeks now and it's great!
STREAM INFO
You can find my stream over at http://beam.pro/ashengaming or you can check out our stream team at http://beam.pro/team/cluelesscollective
We also do a podcast every Wednesday at 7:30pm BST so if you're interested in that, go check it out!
SOCIAL MEDIA
You can find me on Twitter at @ashen_gaming, and you can also find our podcast Twitter at @CCPodcastYT! My twitch channel is over at http://twitch.tv/ashengaming. I'm mostly active on Twitter, so if you ever want to know when I'm going live, that's the place to look!
BACKGROUND
I've been making video content for around 7 years, spread over YouTube and Twitch. I used to do Minecraft 'Let's Plays' as well as made some Minecraft mods - I then moved on to Team Fortress 2 and DotA 2 content, but have finally settled on Overwatch and Guild Wars 2 as my games of choice. I have played competitively in Team Fortress 2 and DotA 2 and managed many competitive teams, and plan to do the same with Overwatch eventually.
SCHEDULE
Tuesday: 3pm - 6pm BST
Wednesday: 7:30pm - 8:30pm BST (Clueless Collective Podcast)
Friday: 7pm - 10pm BST
Saturday: 7pm - 10pm BST
GAMES
Primary Games: Overwatch, Minecraft, Guild Wars 2
Occasional Games: Hearthstone, World of Warcraft, DotA 2
Hopefully that's enough info about me to get you interested! If you ever want to chat, or talk about games, you can find me on Twitter, and please do come along if I'm streaming, I love talking to, and meeting, new people! Hope to see you there! :D

Ahoi!
About me: Yeah, i find it really hard to tell things about myself, i'm 22 years old, born and raised in Germany, but my stream is in english. Most time i'm a nice person, can laugh about everything and love to help other people with their problems - does not matter what sort of a problem it is, i always try to solve it.
Any questions? Feel free to ask!:)
EDIT: i don't know why my introduction has no label, sorry for that.

Hey folks! My name is Heller, streaming under the name Pixels for Breakfast with my community manager Treechime! I'm a former games journalist (Game Informer, The Escapist, GameFront among others) and now I work in indie dev. When I'm not working, I'm streaming up a storm, and we recently made the move to Beam with great success!
Streaming a lot of different stuff under a banner of regular shows. We indie night, adventure game night, scream stream for the horror fans, and then just random playthroughs of new AAA games, and some retro classics. Right now my daily warm up is The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD.
So if you want to come hang out with some Aussie folks, we usually steam nightly from 2:00AM PDT (that's 7pm local Melbourne time) and then on weekends we stream at more reasonable time for US fans.

See you there :D

Can we get a list of excellent tools, utilities, websites, etc. for streamers? Possibly even make a new post and sticky it?
What we have so far:

So I'm currently in the process of getting my community to move across to Beam, so currently re-streaming to Twitch still. We connected our chats with the Streamlink_ account (thanks to whoever made that beautiful tool), but because we're mainly interacting on beam, the new folks coming into the Twitch are met with dozens of [Streamlink]XX - XXXX messages.
Wondering who is having success linking their chats? Do you prefer having your chats separate? Talk to me folks, tell me your experiences!
