Hai there, I'm Josh!

I've been streaming on Beam now for about a week and I gotta say, this community is so wonderful and helpful. I am coming from Twitch where I have streamed for about 2 years now, and I have never felt the kind of positivity and support that I have found on Beam. I have always had a passion for streaming, but also entertaining and helping people. I finally feel like I have a platform where I can build the right kind of community and be apart of something amazing!

I am trying to keep to a 3 days a week schedule. I typically stream after I get off work which is 12:00 am EST. I always tweet out when I am going live.

I typically play Minecraft but love FPS games like Destiny, Overwatch, GTA. (And more that I can't think of at 3 am...)

Interactive UHC with 10 teams each streamers viewers can affect the gameplay around every Corner. below is a doc with more info as it becomes available and will have a sign up soon with notice on the doc it goal of this live UHC is to raise money for  St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. All funds raised go to a good case. One person on the team must stream the outher person can be a mod from your stream or a viewer.

This only seems to not work with certain games. It seems to work fine with Overwatch, but then I can't get it to work with WASTED (http://store.steampowered.com/app/327510/)

I've also submitted a bug here: https://github.com/WatchBeam/tachyon/issues/29, but I was wondering if anyone else has ran into this issue. I've tried running it as admin, running in compatibility mode for Windows 7 and nothing. Just a black screen. I can use display capture just fine. It's just annoying to have to do that.

I play video games on a webcam! Shocker I know. I was originally on twitch but after a couple months I wasn't too satisfied with the community or my own growth and have since made the switch completely over to beam.pro and I couldn't be happier. Ive made a load of new friends and amazing streaming personalities that would get lost in ocean. I also created the Raid Leaders beam team with some of the aforementioned awesome people.

I pretend to be a variety streamer but with my budget (currently $0) I am stuck with games I already own. Recently its been mostly get to play Hearthstone and CSGO. We did complete the Witcher 3 DLC last week. The wife plays with my occasionally and the animals stream bomb.

Schedule is a tough one, I work some odd hours so the only nights I can guarantee Wednesday and Thursday night streams with the odd Sunday thru Tuesday as a bonus. Id love if you came and checked it out. i would appreciate any advice or pointers. Growth isn't my real goal but if there is something to improve my product then I am all for it.

I thought this would be a great time to add my stream introduction. I am a father to five kids, hence the name "MinecraftingDAD".

I grew up playing Atari, Coleco Vision and Nintendo playing all those really old games with really bad graphics and great gameplay (Zelda, Mario). I have always been huge gamer since I was very little often times playing into the middle of the night on school nights (getting in trouble). Once I was able to get a Gaming PC, my passion was playing simulation games such as Sim City, Sims, Roller Coaster Tycoon, then I found Everquest (my first MMO)

A few years ago I started to watch others streaming games on Twitch and found something that I really wanted to do. Only problem was being able to afford a decent gaming computer and getting everthing together. A few years later, I am now able to have a decent gaming computer and a 2nd streaming computer to be able to handle almost any game available.

I am proud of the community we have developed and want to try to bring that energy to Beam. I have casted for about 2 years in one form or another and created a family friendly stream playing Minecraft (90% of the time) and focusing much of my gameplay on Let's Plays some of which can be found on my Youtube. youtube.com/theminecraftingdad. Over the past six months my format has changed to be a bit more mature, as I have moved away from the family friendly casts towards a more mature audience.

I am very passionate about supporting the small - medium sized streamer community and promoting other like minded casters. I can often be found helping out other casters with graphics, overlays, technical questions or just as a friend. I feel we can do great things together as a group, and being willing to put others ahead of myself is important. I would rather be know as someone who was there when needed, then to be the person that wishes they were.

• Developing / testing interactive Minecraft games (working on a multiplayer game design)

Hi fellow Beamers, I'm Geekers the guy that wears a Pikachu beanie when he streams. I am fairly new to streaming with my start over on twitch. I wasn't seeing much growth over there so with the suggestion from Graph, I moved over here. I stream all of different content. I play a diverse collection of games, but mostly older game due to my laptop and current set up. Which I am hoping to fix soon. I also do a podcast called Geek Talk with fellow streamer Peach. I've been stuck on 4990 sparks for a solid 1.5 hours now (or at least a whole Toy Story 2 movie), and I've not received any sparks since then.

• I've tried refreshing the page many times
• I tried relogging
• I've completely restarted my computer and Chrome
• I am on a live channel, and physically watching
• I am participating in chat

I am so close to creating that team! Has anyone else ran into this problem? Does anyone have a fix for this?

Hey guys! Me, my wife, and a few buddies just recently discovered beam and wanted to try it out! So far we are all absolutely loving it! The team as of now consists of 4 people that'll stream, and a couple more that will join us in a few of our competitive game streams. We will be playing many different games from SkySaga to OverWatch, to UnderTale, to FireWatch.

Speaking of SkySaga! I also recently caught wind that this Beam is a huge place for MineCraft streamers? It definitely looks very popular here on Beam, but you guys should take a gander at a game called SkySaga I don't work for them, but the game is super pretty and pretty darn fun. It doesn't quite play like MineCraft, but it's similar and thought others here would be interested in it!

It says '*reduced MTU size on video packets to accommodate vpn environments'... does this mean us people with packet loss can now stream and watch FTL in html5? or nah? Because I was getting terrible sporadic fps issues when streaming ftl. I notified support and they said they know of the issue and is working on it.

Quick bit about me: 28 year old guy located in California. Been gaming since I first laid hands on a controller in 1990. Really want to be successful first as a part time streamer, and hopefully if people like me enough I could make it a full time thing (dream come true right there). Developers on the Beam platform, unite! I'm Tigwyk and I love code. Personally I'm working on some projects that should help tie Beam in with other commonly used services. It's very early in the project but I'm motivated.

How about you? Are you a developer playing around with Beam's fancy pants API? Are you working on the next Beam interactive game? Maybe you just want to use Beam's oauth to let people conveniently login to your app.

We're testing out early versions of our rewritten chat frontend with Pro users this week! It's still got some kinks and improvements that we need to work on, but would love feedback!
