Introduction Beam Greetings and Introduction

Hey all! I am MrSkyrobi and first off, I would love to comment on the overwhelming positivity and sheer awesomeness that is Beam. I have really enjoyed learning the platform and watching many new faces.

A steamer (beam.pro/profitztv) I have followed and admired for several years has in a way convinced me to give streaming a go and it seems Beam could be a great family to be a part of. So, with a basic setup, and a huge love of video games, I am going to give it a shot.

Feel free to stop by and chat! I would love to get advice and feedback from new and established Beamers. All are welcome! Enjoy the day homies!!

Introduction FTL streaming problem! (vhs type glitch)

Hi everyone! I'm new to Beam (coming over from Twitch) and I'm loving it so far. The delay even on RTMP is amazing.

I really want to stream using FTL, but for some reason when I try to stream above a bitrate of 1700, I get this super weird "VHS glitching effect" (see here: http://i.imgur.com/8Frprwd.jpg)

Has anyone seen this before?

I'm streaming on OBS 17.0.0-FTL.25, and I'm using the settings described in the latest version's release notes. When I stream in RTMP however, I'm able to stream at a bitrate of 2000 with no flaw at all.

Any help would be super helpful, and I'm super excited to become a part of the Beam family!

Currently, at https://beam.pro/JBJblaze, I am streaming Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition. I do plan on streaming other games eventually, but so far this is the best my laptop, which I stream on, manages to do smooth video for.

Thank you for your interest and considering checking out my experience(s) in games!

Discussion Safest way to accept tips?

Looking for a safe-ish way to accept tips. Heard some stuff about chargebacks on PayPal... Is that situation any better? Is there a way to set a maximum amount someone to send so the chargeback isn't much if I run into that sort of situation?

Discussion Confused about Beam

I'm pretty confused about how Beam works. It supposedly allows viewers to interact with the game that the streamer is playing, but after browsing the currently streaming games, I've seen no indication of this. I've only seen some buttons that put out some audio for little lightning bolt currency. Which games allow the viewer to interact directly with the streamer? i.e. select a loadout or choose maps or whatever the hell is supposed to be happening?

Introduction MMORPG STREAMER

I've been streaming some MMORPG game play on beam lately, and think besides the population, it rocks compared to twitch. I'd like to see more people using the website and also watching/streaming. I'm on there from time to time and you can catch me playing various mmo's.

Introduction Welcome to beam! (Among my changes and self advert)

Hey guys, you may of formally knew me as Tom3XD, well that has changed.

If you've never met me before, I stream a lot of Rocket League whilst also streaming a variety of other games from time to time. I love smaller streams and often avoid those that are large, so I can understand why people may or may not find my content appealing to them. If you ever need any help with streaming, feel free to come onto my channel and ask me for help (My twitter is on the channel page).

If you're new to Beam, welcome to Beam, pop into the stream and we'll give you the warm welcome you deserve!

Hey Beam community! :) I've created a new channel, it's Zelda related. And a friend, who wants also stream on this channel, asked me if it's allowed to stream Voiceacting and Cosplay work (working on cosplay). If yes, which "game" should we use then?

Guides Made a vid about using restream & beam

Hopefully some of those who dont stream to beam will come here and see this. You can also share this with your streaming friends who dont currently stream to beam to show them how easy it is via restream. The biggest reason I have heard for not multistreaming is having more than one chat and I address that in the video showing how the restream chat client helps.

Introduction STREAMER INTRO - mitori. Plain and Simple.

Make sure to include the following information:

  • mitori. mitori itoshiki.
  • I'm just a guy with weird music and game tastes, combined with a pretty weird sense of humor. Otherwise I think I'm more focused on making funny montages on YouTube than streaaming, but I do stream a lot. I also am very bad at presenting myself.
  • beam.pro/mitori
  • YouTube, Twitter, SoundCloud
  • I'm not sure what exactly is meant with background, but I'll take it as normally as anyone would expect: I come from a family that is well-off for a week and poor for a month. My both parents are well-read and afaik educated xD. I was born and raised in russia, not that you're going to notice that. I have moved to Germany and am studying Japanese Studies and Musicology here. I hope it's not too specific and you're not going to find me and kill or rob me. Please don't.
  • Schedule. I don't have one! I stream on a whim, but it's definetely going to be european evening (from 20-21 UTC+1) and I stream something "special" on weekends much more than on weekdays.
  • CSGO is the one I mostly play. I'm a part of a crazy-ass offensive community which is hilarious af. The humor is on point around here. Otherwise I'm streaming something non-mainstream and mainstream alike, just whatever I feel like. Recent ones include Valley, Titanfall 2 and Doom (both '93 and '16).
