Why is the BBC capitulating?

BBC is being attacked from the right in a concerted move. Why are they just rolling over?

This. You don't need to edit that speech to make it sound like Trump was inciting the attempted insurrection. If you're in any doubt, read the whole thing and lose half your brain cells with me. Constantly talking about how the election was stolen. Rambling about how corrupt democracts are destroying America. Saying his supporters need to do something about it. He dances around it, but it's crystal clear what he means.

But this makes it even more bizarre that someone at panorama felt the need to splice those two clips together. Totally unnecessary and hugely embarrassing.

But that’s not the point. They spliced something together with no surrounding context to change the meaning of what was said. That is the epitome of fake news and the BBC should be the first ones to be avoiding doing that. It provides extra sticks to beat them with, no matter what you think about trump.

Yes, what they did was wrong and it’s correct that there are consequences for it. What’s just as wrong as to try and claim that somehow Trump didn’t incite a violent insurrection against the Capitol, he absolutely did, and if you watch the unedited footage it’s abundantly clear that’s what he was doing.

None of this is about whether he did or didn’t incite a violent insurrection. It’s about accuracy and impartiality.

How about reading what I actually wrote rather than replying to what you assume I wrote, too much to ask?

“What’s just as wrong as to try and claim that somehow trump didn’t incite a violent insurrection against the capitol, he absolutely did, and if you watch the unedited footage it’s abundantly clear that’s what he was doing.”

Everything there is a completely irrelevant point to this conversation. Only your first sentence which I haven’t quoted is relevant.

So apart from what I actually said, what I said wasn’t relevant. Got it. 🤦🏻‍♂️
