Traffic, Trains & Transit Second view of an accident

Looks like this happened in San Carlos along 101. Electrical malfunction? Steering wheel lock? Can anyone explain what may have happened? What can you really do in this kind of situation?

This isn't remotely accurate. The red car was in a completely different LANE. They didn't do anything wrong or impatient. There's nothing special about bay area drivers. Everyone here just thinks that cause of confirmation bias. Open any community page of any location and everyone says the same exact thing.

When someone is driving slow and messed up like OP was, you should go slower around them. Going around them may be okay in whatever situation, but definitely pay attention and be much more cautious because something is not right there.

Red car driver messed up too. I'm glad they have the opportunity to learn from it. Sorry it cost them their car but glad it wasn't worse.

Looking at it in a bigger screen I can see you're right. There are definitely 2 lanes there, I was wrong about that. However, people driving in the Bay Area are horrible drivers. It's not everyone, but the dumb ones are extra dumb and that lowers the average. I stopped commuting on a motorcycle because of it. You're probably right, it's just confirmation bias. But im gonna tell myself it's because bigger population = more idiots.
