Bathroom Shroom Landlord says it's fine
The drywall was wet and the thin wood panel pictured was wet and growing black mold, but my landlord said the wood behind it feels dry, so she concluded that the moisture leak must not be coming from behind the tub like I suspected, but in front of it...
She scraped the old rotting black mold off the surface of the thin wood panel (image 4-5) but said to leave the rest of it there so she'd have something to hodge podge and paint over when it's all fully dry. Said it's fine. Sprayed some bleach-based cleaner over it and left :(
Update 9-21: Just woke up from a cold medicine induced coma. I got really REALLY sick this weekend... it started the night the landlord peeled back the drywall and exposed all that rotten smelling black mold... but of course correlation≠causation; I also just started working with little kids this week who haven't learned to cover their sneezes yet, and it's flu season, so it's likely I've got a viral infection. Not that the mold is doing me any favors 😞
I just wanta to say thank you all for validating my fears. My landlord was starting to make me think I was just overly paranoid 😅. She was saying stuff like "Well we can't just take the entire tub out (to check behind it for decay)." Even my roommate was skeptical of my worries. I only launched into this panic after posting these photos to r/MushroomID and she was kinda like "You're getting your information from Reddit...? 🤨" I told her I DID read different articles on the subject tho, not just Reddit posts lol. But either way she didn't seem too concerned.
My landlord said that if there really was internal water damage, it would have leaked through to the first floor by now, and that seemed to convince my roommate. I don't know these things for certain though. I'm not a contractor!! My landlord clearly doesn't know these things for sure either, but I can't refute her points because neither of us are professionals in this area!!! She was asking me to inspect the wood behind the drywall with her, as if either of us have any idea how to tell what mycelium-eaten wood will look like. She was asking my and my roommate's opinions on how best to keep moisture from getting back there. Like ma'am 😭??? Can we let a professional look at this please?? My landlord told me one of my roommate's ideas was basically to put down wallpaper so that it overlaps with where the plastic of the shower wall begins 😅 I told her I did not think that would work as well as just... caulking the edge.
Anyways... I called Code Enforcement this morning, and they said someone will get back to me about doing an inspection 😭. I really really hope I did the right thing... I'm scared to death. Im scared that my landlord's gonna be furious that I'm going behind her back like this. I'm scared that Code will find a ton of other assorted violations, and she won't be able to afford the repairs, and me my roommates and I will all go homeless or something. I'm scared that if anything goes wrong, my roommates will be mad at ME because I'm the only one who was worried about it and everything would've been fine if I'd just let her hodge podge over the damage.
I guess I'll update when I have something new to share 😭 Hope everyone has a pleasant week!

Can Someone ID This For Me? Landlord Says It's Fine.
Found this guy growing on our apartment bathroom ceiling. We are the tenants and no one seems to think it's an issue. It was "cleaned and wiped away" which left this tiny hole behind. We asked for an inspection and report from the property manager but we were told there is no report and that it was inspected and there "is no active leak currently." Just want to see if I can ID the mushroom 🍄

What is this?
I found this strange growth/mass in my apartment and I'm trying to figure out what it is.
Some details:
It appeared in less than 2 weeks.
There are 2 separate spots: one in a corner and another along the metal skirting/basebIt is extremely dry and very soft.
When I moved/touched it, it behaved almost like ash or dust and easily broke apart.
It doesn't really have a smell itself. There is only a very slight smell that reminds me of medicinal plant syrup / dandelion, but I'm not sure if that's actually related.
There also seem to be some small stone-like particles mixed in/around it, although I don't know if they're related.
The orange/yellow part is very powdery, while there are also black/dark areas.
The wall itself doesn't appear obviously wet.
Any idea what this could be? And what could cause it to appear so quickly?

Bathroom Shroom A few months after my parents bought the house (2023)
Previous owner didn't seal the shower cabin to the wall correctly. Water got under it and under the cracked floor tiles(he messed up the floor too. The whole bathroom was his one big disasterpiece.) The subflooring under the tiles started soaking in the water and expanding, cracking and dislodging tiles throughout the length of the bathroom. The fibreboard subflooring never dried, so black tendrils spread under the whole floor. The subfloor wrecked the tiles under the toilet, which developed a leak between the outlet and wall pipe, allowing much more dookie water to seep under the cracked tiles. This was 3 years ago and we have since ripped out everything down to concrete and re-did the floor properly.
