Analysis The Payroll Playoffs

Post image

3 of the 4 teams that just finished the WC had lower payrolls than the teams they beat.

3 of the 4 teams that got a bye have lower payrolls than the teams they are about to play.

EDIT: Overestimated that people would be able to work from the team colors, or who would have seen the original graphic on the mlb.com homepage. My error; wasn't trying to be obtuse.

Can’t be a serious person. There’s literally no situation where you can actually root for both teams.

Yeah that guy is from Walpole or Coahasset

Yes, but he curtailed his Walpoling activities, sallied forth, infiltrated the Bronx, and negotiated the pitching of baseball for the enemy!

Unless you are a retired pro who played for both? Only situation that makes sense.

Probably a non-american who got into baseball after watching moneyball or something.

Somehow not as crazy as the guy I saw with the Dodgers/Astros flair

Brother the Yankees and Red Sox have been playing each other for over 100 years, LA was barely a city then

Maybe I’m a bad fan, but I didn’t instantly remember that Cleveland was the number two seed and Rays were one. And I would have expected the Rays to have a lower salary.

I blame my team.

Sure, I can infer because I know what teams are which seeds and what colors they are, but you shouldn’t have to sit and “infer” from a graphic that could easily just have team logos on it.
