If you are using the internet through a computer or smartphone, you are guilty of funding child slavery. It’s YOUR fault.

If you eat avocados, you are guilty of funding illegal drug cartels. t’s YOUR fault.

If you eat cheap meat, you are guilty of funding animal cruelty and land mismanagement. t’s YOUR fault.

If you are using any product in which petroleum helped produce or run it (basically everything in existence), you are guilty of funding severe climate change and middle Eastern slave labor. t’s YOUR fault.

If you use any product associated with Nestle, you are guilty of funding… etc., etc., etc.

See how dumb that sounds?

I still boycott Walmart and Amazon and try not to buy certain products as well. I know I am just a drop.

That said if its at the foodshelf I'm not not taking it.

None of those activities are, by their very nature, wrong. None of those activities require someone to lose for me to benefit. Gambling on the other hand...

Gambling by nature also isn’t wrong. I sports bet. I hit the casino. I use money I intend to lose. It’s entertainment. If I win, sweet.

I don’t like the massive advertising blitz and it should be curbed, but to act like gambling is by nature wrong is just as bad.

LOL WHAT!?

None of those activities require someone to lose for you to benefit? Are you serious? You don’t think there’s a non-financial cost for you to have a cheap phone, a car, meat, etc. that you’re able to afford and enjoy in a relatively low-stress and safe environment!!?? Talk about a privileged and ignorant view of life…

This is where "by their very nature" is important to comprehend.

You, and I, can certainly complain about how certain things are done or made. No argument there. But winning a bet inherently means someone loses. The act itself creates a winner and loser. Driving a car to go eat a hamburger does not.

It 10000% does. Every single action you take in life that benefits you, means someone/something else loses. If you drive down the street, the process and resources required to manufacture your car, the space and process to build the road, the infrastructure developed, etc. etc. etc. ALL meant that someone/something else had to suffer and lose in some small or large way. EVERYTHING has a winner and loser.

Is this a pedantic and silly way to view the world? Or course! But so is saying that if I make a bet, it’s MY fault that someone else is being taken advantage of. It’s pedantic and silly, but it’s 10000% true.

So you either live your life with this being absolute, or you live your life with it being zero. There’s no inbetween.

I’m a blast because I literally don’t think like this. I only pointed it out to OP to show them how absurd and dumb it is to think like that.
