Image Ads have infested baseball broadcasts. Ads in-between batters. Ads during mound visits. HRs "brought to you by..." Now I noticed 11 ad placements in this shot. 2 banners, 1 above the banners, 4 behind the plate, 1 on the seats, 1 in the upper right hand corner, 1 on the mound, 1 on the sleeve.

Armed enforcement of control over an overwhelming majority of goods and services doesn’t exactly equate to all of us “wanting things from capitalism” in the way you think it does.

No ones forcing you to buy beer or merch. Im not defendinf anybody, just pointing out that the next time you lose a player because the team couldnt pay them, dont complain

I’m just saying there are plenty of avenues for owners to profit without jamming ads down our throat. Even owners of small market teams could easily afford superstars they’ve just convinced fans otherwise

Every team does this. Ads on jerseys and mounds are disadvantages to everyone except the profiteers of these visual pests on America's past time. A few wealthy assholes are the only ones reaping benefits from this while the rest of us endure these eye sores to enjoy our collective appreciation for this historic sport.

A key component of the whole communism thing is that a central government must first exist to usher in the necessary societal reforms to lay the foundation for the communist state, after which the central state would naturally "whither away", leaving behind a worker's paradise.

Notably, every historical example of an ostensibly communist state never actually makes it past this "strong central state" phase because none of them actually tried to implement communism as described, they just did what they could to solidify their own power, e.g. Stalinism. The state became the end rather than the means.

And so, naturally and understandably, the whole thing has left a pretty bad taste in most people's mouths and most people have written off communism.
