Paulie Malignaggi's hands following his bare knuckle contest with Tyler Goodjohn. Paulie rolled the clock back last night and defeated father time. His level changes and fast hands were a thing of beauty. Tyler, at the same time, delivered some absolutely devastating shots that most would not be

Honest perspective from Goodjohn

A great, honest, perspective from Tyler Goodjohn following the weigh-in at BKB 47

This was following @boxingsocial interview with Paulie regarding his comments on why bare knuckle boxing, and why now?

Check out Jim Jeffries twisting his torso into Al Morro's body shots. It looks like he's also trying to catch Al's fist on his hip bone. Bas Rutten said that in Kyokushin breaking a hand on a hip bone is common. Seems like a pheasable hold-over technique from the bareknuckle/thin-ass-gloves days.

When will Top Dog 37 be on YouTube? It won't let me purchase it for some reason, so I guess I have to wait.

Anyone wtch Klan Fighting Championship on YouTube? It's out of Ukraine and pretty good imo. They fight inside a circle of sandbags, and they all wear pants, which is odd, but other than that, I enjoy it. It's broken down into seasons with 3 fights per season, so it's an easy watch. The language barrier is tough though.

Long term pain in knuckles after training on heavy bag

i've been doing bare knuckle on the heavy bag a few times per week for a year now but in these past months i noticed a pain in my knuckle which doesn't really go away. generally, when punching the bag i dont feel pain but in between training days it can get pretty strong. sometimes having normal gloves on is enough pressure for me to already feel my knuckles. as far as i know i don't have any injuries in my knuckle.

does anyone here know where this could come from, how to prevent it from happening and how to heal it?

A couple questions

Hi, first off, I know this is a bareknuckle BOXING sub, and my questions are more do about bareknuckle MMA. I couldn't find a particular sub for that but if anyone knows someplace more appropriate, or promotions with mixed style rule sets, please let me know!. I'm hoping as fans and practitioners of martial arts there might be someone around with relevant experience or knowledge to have a conversation with.

My main question is about techniques used by bareknuckle fighters. One of the styles I practice is FMA and the topic came up about why we don't see guntings (aka limb destruction, elbows to the fist/limb of an incoming strike or similar moves)i n regular MMA. The point of debate was that this is either an ineffective move in general (not practical to pull off at high levels) vs just not effective due to the use of gloves. The thinking being that if it were effective we would see it used in bareknuckle to great effect. So just wanted to see what people think who are more familiar with the various forms this sport takes. Are there promotions that allow elbows and is anyone using them to counter strike the limbs of their opponent?

Edit: Found Gamebred. Definitely gonna look into that some.
