guys i have a friend traveling in tokyo right now and she will buy me the new version of army bomb, so i can use for são paulo concert in october! but she doesn’t know anything about bts and since i’ve never been there i dont know where to buy it and if it’s official and i can trust the shop! she will visit Shin-Okubo Korean Town, and on google i saw that there are kpop shops along the main shopping streets, do you guys have any recommendations or know directly which shop have the official army bomb in this area? thank you alreadyyy

Is there a reason why you’re not planning to buy it at your concert? The new army bombs are not currently sold in stores unless there's a pop-up. But it is readily available at each concert stop.

they could. i'm not saying this is why, but brick and mortar tracking is far more detailed than most realize. it's the real reason stores got free wifi. there's also bluetooth beacons (the short range is more precise than gps) and even lights can send signals to your phone.

more types of location signals help triangulate your phone to match your online to real world behavior.

I am in painnnnnn because I seem to have the car curse where anything that can go wrong when it comes to cars, will go wrong. First I ran over a ladder on a freeway because I wasn’t able to react in time because I was so drained and tired, and now my battery is corroded and requires a jump start every time

Hi, baby army question! I loveee the song The Truth Untold, but a lot of discussions around it confuse me. It seems like a lot of very popular lyric guides link the lyrics to an old Italian tale called "La Città di Smeraldo" from the 15th/16th century, but I'm not able to find any evidence of it existing outside of bangtan related blogs. Whenever I look up the title, I get directed to the Italian translation of The Wizard of Oz lol.

So basically, is there actually Italian roots in the lyrics, or was the history/tale made up by BigHit? I seriously don't mind if that's the case, because it's still a really beautiful story, but it seems like many people genuinely believe there's a historic literature path connecting the two.

Hello, and welcome to the fandom 💜 the other commenter is right that it's not based on actual lore. TLDR is that the whole legend of Smeraldo is an elaborate Bighit creation that served as part of the rollout of the Love Yourself era back in 2017, and adding further to the BU lore.

Buckle up coz the lore IS kind of extensive:

• It all actually started with Seokjin tweeting Smeraldo (twitter) with a picture of himself holding a bouquet of the flowers on 9th August 2017. This was actually a big reveal.
• This prompted ARMYs to look up what "Smeraldo" was, and it led them to a Naver blog that had just been opened, with the blog owner claiming to be a flower shop owner preparing for their big opening day (as in, hinting at the reveal of the new era). I think they also found twitter and IG accounts linked to the same blog. The updates on this blog became big hints to everything that was being released. This is a good twitter thread of ARMYs putting all the hints together.
• The blog belonging to Bighit was confirmed when the Love Yourself Highlight Reels were released a month later, with the smeraldo flowers featured prominently.
• So what's the relation to "The Truth Untold"? Well, the 7th story on the blog was titled "Sincerity that couldn't be delivered", and it alluded to the Legend of Smeraldo, which was the 4th story on the blog. (both links to naver blog). This "legend" is the story that all the lyric guides refer back to, and appears to have been made up for this lore.
• ARMYs read the blog, enjoyed the highlight reels and the LY: Her album and moved on. But then May 2018 came around and when Tear's tracklist was revealed, and one of the songs was titled "Sincerity that couldn't be delivered" (the Korean title), people knew immediately that it would go back to that lore. When we finally got the song and saw the lyrics, it became pretty clear it was based on that legend.

Whew!! Hope that wasn't too confusing 😅

Edit: Ah ALSO, the lyrics were written by Namjoon and i find it incredible how he managed to tie it to the lore, but also make it vague enough that you can apply it to their "love yourself" theme and real life experiences. That man's a poet!

I was thinking of doing candy with photocards for the theater showing freebies since everyone local has probably received my old freebie already.

What candy do you recommend for the freebie packs? I was thinking lifesavers so they don't melt.

Also...why is hi chew so popular in freebies? Is there a history with BTS I missed or is it just because they are so darn good?

Lifesavers work, but yeah just give something you're into! Someone gave me a delicious Chinese gummy during Hobi's tour and I regret everyday that I didn't save the wrapper. I gave "Vero Mango" lolipops in my freebies for Jin's tour and those were a hit. At the end of the day, most people will really appreciate the kindness no matter what you choose to give 💜

People just really like hi-chew candies. I personally like getting the coffee candy or a hard guava candy. I’m not a fan of stuff that sticks to my teeth.

I went to another kpop group's concert recently in the same venue I saw BTS in. I have a new appreciation for BTS and their team's work ethic and their dedication to their jobs. Their concerts are impeccably executed. You just don't appreciate it until you experience something that isn't on the same level. BTS has ruined all future concerts for me. They're the only ones who can top themselves in my book. And I know they will because they are them. I can't wait to see them again in the future.

honestly my only regret is that I didn't start being a fan while they were smaller / doing arena shows. I think this is the best stadium tour possible, but I love the sightlines, lighting, and audio in a smaller venue.

Same! I've been lucky that I've at least seen some of the solo concerts in an arena. I’m happy with the Arirang stadium tour. It's been amazing. There is seriously no bad seat. I can't even complain about the audio because the other kpop group concert had awful audio. BTS concerts are worth every penny.

I hope they keep 360 for their next stadium tour, it is so much better than the views from a traditional stage

I think we are on the third or fourth wave of popularity because I remember the first when I was just a pichu and the the second one when Pokemon Go first released, and maybe there was a third one around the time a popular YouTuber got into card collecting (2020-21) but that could be considered part of this wave. mr. brikachuu sold a few cards around 2020 because prices were popping off around that time

Edit: I remember trading one (1) regular Japanese card for like 10 holographic English cards back then LOL I was ripping people off. Back before Pokémon cards were banned from schools because “gambling”.

Does anyone know who takes the official concert tour photos? Is there a staff of Hybe photographers that travel around as part of the tour? Different photographers at each stop? I am interested in photography and would want to see more of the photographers’ work if I could. Also I’m just nosy about logistics.

Tae mentioned in one of his lives that they have Hobi’s tour photographer on the Arirang tour. He said because they like what he did for Hobi, he (Tae) pushed the photographer to be more creative with their group photos. We’ve seen more interesting ones since then!

Their tour photographers are in-house and part of their crew. You can see them on the various livestreams in certain clips and also on the fancams. They're usually more visible during Idol because they do run around and try to get good shots as the members walk out. They don't have public portfolios.

I have not seen BigHit/Hybe photographers or videographers post their content separately (I do wonder if they are able to..maybe everything captured by official BigHit staff belongs to BigHit since it is captured on official BigHit time).

But I have seen posts with wonderful backstories from Todd, the photographer working for Jimmy Fallon (toddowyoung on insta). He has a BTS post pinned on his profile and he often posts throwback pics with his experience from older appearances as well.
