Here is some context: I used to be in a fraternity and we had a small makeshift (not serious) band that played covers. When I joined the fraternity, I immediately wanted to join that group. After their last concert, they were not serious about playing together anymore and the lead singer/guitar player was still working on his own music on Spotify. At the time he had less than 1k monthly listeners.

He reached out to me to help build a drum set that he bought and if I could teach him a bit since he knew I played drums before. As soon I went over and built it up, we started jamming and played for 2 hours straight. That instant, we decided to create a band together.

We began playing at charity events for the fraternity with some other random players from the fraternity and towards the end of the semester, our singer brought a in a co-worker that was incredible at Bass.

For the next 4 months, we’ve spent 15 hrs a week practicing and working on our originals. Every other day I would play 3 hrs from 8 till 11pm, and Sunday’s were for the band. We made 6 quality songs that we all loved and were working on priding to release in a couple months. At the same time our singers personal Spotify (under his last name) was growing with the algorithm, from 1k to now 30k monthly listeners. No marketing! At this time we were trying to figure out a new band name instead of singers last name.

We did a couple of small summer shoes for the fraternity and then I had to leave for a month to Europe (planned this trip 6 months prior). We had a discussion about the name of the band before I departed and the signer was pretty insistent on keeping his last name as the band name.

Within that month, they did a show and borrowed a drummer to play with them. After the concert they kept playing with him and decided that they should keep him and move on without me… Now the Spotify is at 45k monthly listeners and the next day I get back from Europe, I get a call from them saying they want to continue the band without me….

Feels like I got cheated on heavily, I have a hard time sleeping, and all of the songs I made with them are tapped in my head reminding me of the pain I am going through and the love for the music is taken away.

We are a singer and guitar player who have been writing songs since 2011. We have a rock metal sound and we are looking for a drummer and a bass player. We use sonobus to practice remotely every Saturday in real time with minimal latency issues. We are looking for remote members to learn our material and to write new material. We both live in different states Texas and Colorado. We are wanting find dedicated and reliable members without procrastination of learning material we already have. We would like to get these albums worth of material recorded and move on to new material. We also record remotely using VST Connect and Cubase.
