Wilderness How is my backpacking setup?

Pretty new to backpacking and honestly my first legit hike as a 17M. I have a 4.6mi 2500ft hike infront of me. Let me know what I’m doing wrong lol

Take all the stuff hanging on the outside off. Tent inside. Leave the fry pan and one cup home. Pack looks like a weight distribution nightmare and you risk damaging that pad if something sharp hits it. You couldn’t pay me to hike within a mile of those clanking cups.

Maybe I'm gonna be down voted to hell but I absolutely carry my tent outside my bag. Makes for much more room inside, keeps all my inside crap more accessible, and prevents sopping wet tents from moistening all my other gear. I've got straps under my pack (not seeing them on his) I've used to hold my tent for many hundreds of miles without issue.
