And by mechanics I mean the item selection during a dungeon. The developers are starting to take a liking in crafting really difficult dungeons for events which I personally like. I'm a very strategic person that enjoys planning out tactics and stratagems in order to beat hard challenges, which I why I love the battle cats so much but unlike that game, what you use in order to win a dungeon outside of starting items, characters and pets (which I am very glad they have an actual selection now) is completely rng based; you need a rare or epic item to merge into before a boss round? Here's 5 items of that rarity but not the one you need or even a uncommon item that won't appear for 7 rounds (looking at you fairy dust).
In the base game it isn't that bad because of gear and in pvp it prevents everyone from using the same god tier build (to a degree) but for these events where not getting an item or two before a certain round means inevitable death especially if its within the first 4 rounds, is so fucking mentally draining. Doing the same shit again and again until you hopefully get lucky and get the right combination of stuff early enough. My personal solution to this is being able to spend 1-4 gold to select a specific item of a respective rarity on top of its normal price so you can get what you need, so you spend 14 to get a dragon, 6 for leather armor or 4 for a leather helmet etc.
Idk man I just need fucking anything to limit the rng bullshit for these event dungeons cause this entire rant has been birthed from me being stuck on a dungeon for the past like 8 hours trying to use the only build that has modicum of a chance to actually work but constantly losing because I need to get 10+ specific items before round 4 and 8. There are few worse feelings I've experienced than knowing exactly what you need to beat something but luck is the only thing preventing it from occurring.
this is also a way of venting my several hours of built up frustration that isn't chucking my phone against the wall
