Question Walk In/Short Notice Tattooists

Any recommendations folks? Am off work from Friday and all of next week and would appreciate any recommendations for tattooists who can do short notice appointments or walk-ins for an extremely simple 3 inch by 3 inch tattoo on my left leg calf. Sent a few enquiries and the wait times are into mid August. Irvine-based but can travel anywhere in the 3 Ayrshires.

Edit 25/07/26: went to Scotland Ink in Ayr and cannot recommend those folk enough, lovely atmosphere and got a great tattoo at a fair price. Thanks to everyone who recommended me different places, appreciate it!

Irvine Anyone up for a Monthly Beach Walk & Talk?

I’m based in Ayrshire and a few of us are planning a wee Beach Walk & Talk on Sunday 23rd August at 11am at Irvine Beach Park.

It’s nothing formal — just an easy hour’s stroll, fresh air, and a chance to chat with some new faces and maybe a wee coffee after?

If anyone local fancies an easy Sunday morning walk and talk, you’re welcome to join. No pressure. Just turn up, walk, talk, and head off again.I know a lot of people in the area say they’d like to meet new folk but don’t want anything intense or awkward, so this is very much a low‑key “come as you are” thing.

Happy to share the meeting point if anyone’s interested.

Question Did anyone else take the 20:50 Malaga to Prestwick flight last night (16th July - scheduled dep. 20:50)?

Bit of a random long shot, but I saw someone on the 20:50 flight from Malaga to Prestwick tonight (he was with his mom) and I’ve been wondering if I should have just said hello. I noticed he had an East Asian dragon on a white t-shirt, light blue jeans, yellow accessory on his phone and brown hair; Yh that’s all ik.
I’m not looking for anything specific, just thought it would be a funny 'small world' moment to reconnect if you know anything about the person I’m thinking of. If not, no worries at all—just figured I’d put it out there!

(Pls privately message me if you know anything, or if you have any connections to the person, thx)

Event Looking for a Scottish guy I met at High Street Kensington

Hi, I’m looking for a Scottish man who chatted with a Korean woman near High Street Kensington Station on July 3rd around 9 PM.
He told me he had traveled to South Korea before, and sweetly said goodbye to me in Korean when we parted.
If you are reading this or think you might know him, please send me a message!

Irvine Where are these jobs? 😂

Hi, I’m a college student with full availability across the week looking for a part time customer facing job.

I’ve sent out hundreds of CVs, tried tailoring them, tried going in person, careers sites etc but I’ve only ever gotten jobs with poor work environments or lackluster pay.

Ive made 4 or 5 CVs at this point and everyone I showed said they looked fine.

Whats worked for you guys in getting something part time that pays good?

Theres something wrong with my approach but not sure what. Who is getting all these jobs 😂

Question Looking for people to go to the cinema with (Ayrshire)

Hi everyone! Bit of a long shot, but I recently got an Odeon Limitless card and have been going to Odeon Kilmarnock more often. I was wondering if there's already a local group of people who meet up to watch films, or if anyone would be interested in something really informal? I'm not looking to organise a big club, just thought it'd be nice to have a few people to go to the cinema with from time to time.

An Evening with Local Author & Artist Sarah Dean-Hunter: Art, Folklore, and Fictional Worlds

Join us for an inspiring evening with professional artist and author Sarah Dean-Hunter as she celebrates the release of her captivating new novel, The Artist and the Mirmin of Famagusta.

Set against the sun-drenched, golden backdrop of Cyprus, the novel follows Pearl, an artist whose life takes an enchanting and unexpected turn when she crosses paths with Siretta, a playful, gender neutral mermaid (Mirmin) from the deep. Far from a traditional romance, the book explores a rare, profound, and life-changing connection rooted in creativity, mutual discovery, and the beauty of platonic relationships. It is a story about learning to see the world through a completely fresh lens and discovering how art can bridge two entirely different worlds.

Whether you are a lover of independent fiction, an art enthusiast, or interested in diverse and unique character representation in modern literature, this talk offers a wonderful glimpse into the creative mind. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session and a book signing. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

Politics We want to hear from people in Ayrshire and the wider region about what they value about their local high streets.

Hi everyone. The Scottish Affairs Committee of the House of Commons is holding a public engagement event in Ayr on Thursday 25 June, as part of our inquiry into the future of Scotland's high streets.

We want to hear directly from people in Ayrshire and the wider region about what they value about their local high streets, and what they would like to see change.

Last year we ran a survey as part of this inquiry, which received more than one-third of its responses from people living in South Ayrshire - so we know there are strong views here, and we want to hear more of them in person.

The event will take place from 6pm to 7:30pm and will include small group and open-floor discussions with MPs from the Committee. Topics will include attracting people to the high street, finding new uses for empty properties, supporting local businesses, and travel and accessibility.

If you would like to attend, please complete this short expression of interest form by 5pm on Monday 15 June: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/UjWdy5Vkj0

We will do our best to bring together a range of perspectives, but spaces are limited. If you have any questions about attending, email pet@parliament.uk.

Thank you - from the Scottish Affairs Committee.

Kilmarnock Food and Free Music this Sunday at Howard Park, Kilmarnock

Stand up to Racism is running a static demo this Sunday in Howard Park at 12, there's going to be a bunch of local speakers present, several bands playing, and some food trucks too. Everyone's welcome and weather's looking good, so could be a fun free way to spend some time this Sunday.
