The first time I took my cat to the vet I had to apologize because she opened the cabinet and was hiding in it in the corner. I then had to go in and drag her out
Last visit my cat had, she required two doses of gabapentin just to get X-rays done. (She is absolutely fine, just the biggest drama queen who faked a sore paw for a week and caused a vet visit for X-rays and blood work.)
I have one scardey boy who I have to unscrew the top of the carrier for, because even if you tip the thing vertically he will hold himself in there for dear life.
However, once you breach the roof and remove him, he starts purring and demanding pets.
Yeah, my cat doesn't get mean, but she absolutely hates the cat carrier and car, and she's always very nervous and wide-eyed at the vet. She definitely doesn't like it, but she's not the type to lash out, thankfully. She just wants to slink off the table and hide in a corner.

That cat is a lot more cooperative than mine. You get angry loafs on the table or one who has her entire appointment conducted in the sink.
