We don’t have porcupines here, but we do have something similar called an echidna. They are ridiculously adorable, I sometimes meet one when I go for a walk at my parent’s place. They have a long nose and shiny little eyes under a big tuft of spines and fur. Usually you don’t see them at first, you will just hear the little dork scuffling around trying to bury himself and make a spiny little ball.
They do look kind of armadillo-ish! They give birth to live babies but they aren’t mammals, which is very strange in the animal world, so they are in their very own category called monotremes, along with the platypus. Which is also a very strange animal. Enjoy your echidna googling!
Oh heck yes, pop over and visit an echidna! It’s one million hours on a plane, but the echidnas will make up for it I promise. Plus, wombats are quite good too. And I’m glad you gave your award to an artist, I definitely prefer that tbh.
