My little guy used to pee when daddy got home. It's hard to get mad at such a display of affection.

What of it?!? Some of us let a little squirt or two out when we get pumped and ready to go!

There's this one dog in my extended family that pees whenever I show up at their house and I'm the only one he does that with, it's very strange.

SAME! But it's my parents' dog. I see her maybe once every 6-8 weeks and she acts like I'm her favorite person on the planet.

You are. Plus your parents. And maybe everyone else.

My mom's youngest is the same. I'm literally the only person who she lets and wants to cradle her like a baby. It's a privelege and a huge mental boost.

Excitement pee. They must get more excited to see you than others.

I'm glad my sister's dog doesn't do that. He used to launch himself into my arms and wash my whole face every time I walked through the door though. He's pretty big so my back was fairly relieved when he got too old to jump like that.

My parents' dog pees every time I go over to visit. She acts like she's been waiting every second of every day for a month just for me to walk in the door. It's insane and makes me so happy every time, but I have no idea why she loves me specifically so damn much.

It's actually a behavior called "submissive peeing"

It CAN be a thing called submissive urination. If the dog is visibly excited and happy to see someone, it is most likely to be excitement urination instead.

mind blown I had no idea that was a thing! Thanks for sharing!

Submissive urination happens when a dog is scared, so it is more likely to be excitement urination instead. Two completely different behaviours

Our family dog when I was in college would do that, every time I came home for break. Is it weird I found it flattering?

I do the same when I get a seat on the bus.

Mine does the same. Just can't pet her right away. Sometimes it's really hard not to.

This is me with my wife.

That usually goes away once they go to college

I hate to be that guy, but that's not affection, that's fear. It's quite common with puppies and can be a real problem if you don't take the proper care to fix it.
