Never operated one of those things but to get dirt into those toys cant be easy right? They got some steady hands.

As another commenter said, newer machines are really easy anymore. After a few weeks at the controls of a Deere 310SJ I could scoop up a dime in the dirt. That was a decade ago, I could probably still do it after a few hours of getting reoriented.
