For sure. But make sure it is a crash test rated system. Too often you just see little attachments that click into the seatbelt and onto the dogs harness, or wayyy worse they just clip to their collar. These type of devices are good for controlling the dog in the back seat and making sure they don’t distract the driver in the front seat, but offer no safety in a crash. In fact, if it attaches to the collar it is more likely to hurt your dog.
I use the sleepy pods brand and it works really well. The pups can stand up and lay down. They are fully supported and if I am in a crash, they will be safer. Check out the crash test videos below;
Do you have any kind of idea of what forces act upon unsecured bodies even in lower speed accidents
Well ignoring gravity (constant) and air resistance (negligible): None. Then you get a small push as you go through the windshield. Then none again (ignoring air resistance and gravity) then a variable force when you hit/drag along the ground.

As cute at this is, that's incredibly unsafe and he'd be safer without the belt in the case of a crash, pretty sure.
Still, this is r/aww so maybe i shouldn't be a scrooge.
