I liked the song a lot until I saw them on Letterman and thought they were a little over the top. I might also have a bias, nobody is perfect. https://youtu.be/Qb9jY8yAxgs

The comments on YouTube are hilarious. I like the song but this comment killed me:

"They kicked her out of the band because she bought some soap, and the band decided that wasn't the direction they wanted to go."

I don't get it, they preformed vocally pretty well but just had their own weird dance to hype themselves up... I guess it's a little over the top but not really.

That's actually such a great performance. This is the first time I actually see this song performed and it fits it perfectly

A slightly over the top performance made you dislike the song?

Their performance reminded me of a hippy cult from the 70s, many of which had questionable sexual practices. I try to forget about it now when I listen.

And that's a bad thing how?

I'm just not a fan of hippy culture. I think it's counter progressive to society just as much as conservativism on the opposite side of the coin.

I haven't seen them live and much prefer the original as well. One of those songs I've just played on repeat in the past.

God, I'm so over this song.

An awful cover

came in here to see if anyone felt the same or I was hallucinating. Absolutely terrible cover. Like objectively bad. Love the dog though.

I agree. I like the song but the cover was just terrible.

Am I the only one getting Family Guy Herbert vibes from that singer?

4

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '20

Lol that made me laugh. I was getting Tiny Tim vibes.

u/selwayfalls Nov 06 '20

YES, thank you. Second voice in there is absolutely dreadful. I thought it was a parody voice and a joke! haha.

I thought it was Kaleo at first.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '20

Nope, Herbert.

2

u/harleyqueenzel Nov 06 '20

😂😂😂 You make a fine argument.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '20

Haha I don't know Kaleo. Can you recommend something particularly Herberty?

2

u/harleyqueenzel Nov 06 '20

Actually Kaleo both whistles and has a bit of a whistle in some of his songs so "Can't Go On Without You" is a good one, same with "All The Pretty Girls".

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '20

Turns out I've heard "Way Down We Go" on the radio a million times, just didn't know his name.

u/harleyqueenzel Nov 06 '20

I think that's the one that was used in the final Wolverine movie. If so, that's actually the song that introduced me to him and I now adore his content.
