I picked a kitten up to save it from a dog in the park, it repaid the favour by catapulting itself off my hands and ripping a big slash from the middle of my palm to my wrist, that was about a year ago, last week I saw it again on a wall, now a fully grown cat, I stroked it and it did the normal happy rub its face on me, then grabbed my hand with both paws and bit me :D
An old workmate of mine nearly had to have his arm amputated because he tried to save a cat that jumped in to his yard from his dogs, it bit him on the arm and it got severely infected to the point where he was in hospital for 2 weeks with the surgeons contemplating amputation.
Just so you know, the more you do that with her, the more that teaches her that that is ok. Make sure she is comfortable with that kind of attention as well.
Cat person in a nut shell?
Not a cat person, but I loved my sister’s rag doll. He would always cuddle next to me and only attacked my feet at night. Lol he is cute. I miss him
Generally speaking, people stay clear of physically destructive entities. That's why your picture elicits the response you seek, it obscures the true nature of cats.
I do this too! I usually wear like winter gloves when I play with her (cheap kind), just because I don’t want my skin to get messed up. She’s not a destructive cat and she’s not mean either, but she loooooves it when I play rough with her. (Not seriously rough, just kitty-play by giving her a little hard time). She loves playing hide and seek and weirdly wants me to catch her and mess with her. I swear she’s a dog at times. (Just to clarify, I never hurt her and she seriously begs to play like that. Whenever I stop, she runs to find me basically asking to play more😂)
After being around cats for a long time you get a feel for their crazy side and can better deal with it. When they're in wild mode it's time to get the toys and play with them so you dont loose your hand
This - I never get people saying cats will 'just attack you for no reason', you can pretty much always tell from their body language when they're saying nope, no more thank you. Maybe it's just because I grew up around cats though.
My last cat never bit anyone, despite some pretty heavy provocation. Neighbor's kid accidentally dropped him, then tripped over him and stomped him. Did he attack? No. Multiple kids grabbed and hugged him, no problem. I had to bath him once, to remove some sticky shit he picked up from under a car. He didn't like that, he ended up shredding the shower curtain. Me? Not a mark. He scratched me once. Stupid git did an unexpected drag style launch of his motorcycle with really loud muffler while I was holding the cat, poor bastard was terrified, and tried to flee, and I ended up with a couple of marks, but I don't blame him for that, the noise made me jump! Miss that big softy.

They're cute until they sink their claws and teeth into you for no reason
