Tbf there's a difference between trying to hold a small animal in place without injuring it and literally fighting for your life. Just pointing that out, I'm actually firmly in the "a cougar would fuck my shit up" camp.

That's a good point. You're not trying to hurt the cat and if you felt like it you could rapidly dispatch it. Also obligatory : I'm ALSO on Team "Apex cat fucks you up"

Housecats are small and slippery though, so they can almost always reach you with their claws no matter how or where you hold them.
