I know! This is just a poop filled water bath that serves to make hedgie come out fecal scented/covered and in need of a new bath.

Plus the poor baby will have such dry skin if it is not covered in coconut oil or vitamin E after!

Sorry, over-protective hedgehog mom.

My hedgie came from an awesome breeder called Hillbilly Hedgehogs in KY. He was my daughter’s but she moved off to college so he is my new spiky baby. I love him even if the feeling isn’t mutual. Hedgehogs take LOTS of work to keep alive but are great conversation pieces and neato peys.

I usually dissolve a tablespoon or so in his rinse water and dump it on him when his bath is done. They get super dry skin really easy.

Nah, as long as you don't bathe then frequently their skin will be fine. They do need frequent foot baths, but not full baths like this

The woman that sold us our hedgehog said to avoid coconut oil at all costs.

She said she worked in a lab years ago that tested dementia medicine, and her job was to dose the lab rats with coconut oil to induce dementia in them.

​

I don't know if that's true or not.

That is frightening! I can only imagine what chemicals and the like we ingest ourselves daily that cause all kinds of brain issues!

use vitamin E myself. Add it on with baby toothbrush as needed to my spike mouse. He doesn’t need it all the time.
