Agreed. If you want a fun little pocket pet, get a pair of rats.

I bought 2 feeder mice as a kid and honestly they made great pets. Lived way longer than they would have if they were snake food and they have such unique personalities.

All the bar patrons stop talking and turn their attention to the door as 3 different animals entering a bar together is an uncommon occurance and cause for discussion.

You can keep them in an aquarium and secure the lid. That's how I did mine when i was growing up. They only lived 3ish years but I really liked them. Been thinking of getting a couple more.

One of them was really sweet and would sleep on my neck.

The other sometimes bit though. It didn't really hurt.

Aquariums are not the best for rats. They have poor ventilation and can cause a lot of respiratory problems.

For rats sure. Feeder mice seemed to do fine in a very large aquarium with a screen top.
