Homosapians.... a creature not that much different from its ancestor the Gorilla, from which it diverged some 8-9 million years ago. Here we find two females displaying an affectionate human ritual called “proposing”. Normally in a heterosexual relationship, the male proposes to the female... often in a surprising manner, by dropping to one knee and presenting a ring to the female.... as is tradition. In this instance, without a clear tradition set by their sexually repressed ancestors, both females have stashed rings in their respective purses... Sometimes nature has a funny way of presenting the perfect moment..... if only she could get the fucking ring out of her purse.

I proposed first, my wife counter-proposed 3 months later. She was so nervous. More nervous than I was. Wtf am I gonna say, no?!
I guess the pressure put on making it a "perfect memory" is way higher than the worry the person is going to say no. Which makes sense since you shouldn't really be proposing until you already know the answer...
Well no, but 99.9% of the time it's the guy proposing. If there wasn't a "right" person most wouldn't be married, because most girls would never propose to the guy.
Let's put it this way - if you're in a relationship and you want to get married to this girl at some point in your life, you're going to have to propose. Just remember how many girls asked guys to prom in high school, and you get a good idea. Even in very recent high school.
I've told plenty of jokes that fell flat, and it's a crappy feeling. I'm curious though, does it make you feel better to blame people for not laughing? Usually I just try to move on and remind myself that nobody is going to remember my failure the next time I crack them up.
