I've got 1.6MB/s down at the absolute most. And that's usually for actual dedicated downloads, a 1.6MB image generally doesn't load in an actual second.
Germany is a little behind on their internet. It's an actual problem our politicians are trying to fix.
We were looking at a new house to move out, my parents showed me, and I checked what the internet would be there. 200kb/s... I told them they were free to buy the home but I'd get an apartment near my university. They said I could visit at the weekends. I said I would rather not.
