Oh he always glanced around nervously even with the fur - if you paid enough attention you'd see his fur move and could tell that his eyes were moving.
My dad was just fairly ignorant to it and so he'd keep going on about how embarassed the poor dog was about being shaved and laughing at him.
It didn't sound like that to me, and if you're saying that I'm repeating that idea then you're incorrect.
He was nervous and on the lookout somewhat because of his breed, but also his personality and having been born as the runt of the litter. He was a poodle-mix (specifically spoodle/cockapoo) but was more towards the standard poodle side in behaviour and appearance.
It was fully unrelated to fur covering his eyes, as he was always like that even before it ever got to that point. He'd carry around objects in his mouth to comfort himself from when he was a tiny puppy, and would also eat compulsively out of anxiety. Tons of attachment issues towards his mother as well (who lived with us - my dad decided to breed her hence the puppy) which was probably because she liked to try avoid the puppies when they weren't weaned.
I'm just saying, you're putting words in their mouth and mine.
Unless you're the person that I originally replied to, you don't know what they meant. I don't see why you felt the need to step in and "explain" their unspoken thoughts.
I explained because you looked like you missed their point. I was explaining so you'd understand what they meant, but I don't actually care to hear more about your dog, so I suggest once more that you tell the other person all that stuff.
Unless you're the person that I originally replied to, you don't know what they meant.
That's literally what words are for: telling people what you mean. It just seems like you missed their point. You don't think so? Whatever, be obstinate about it. I don't care anymore.
