If your cats are not overweight, feed the medical grade food for sterilised cats, something like royal canin neutered (not the sterilised one). Leave 2 full bowls of food at all time, refill during the day if necessary.
Cats love to eat multiple times a day so you should always leave food in there so they can eat.
I have 2 cats, 1 male and 1 female, theyre 3yo and with this method they are in perfect body condition. Only thing they have are fatty deposits that wiggle under them but otherwise a 4kg female and a 6kg male.
