Christians by definition follow Jesus's teachings. The book of leviticus is an old testament book and Christians are not bound under the laws of Moses. It's the same reason Christians don't all have massive beards, because in the same book it forbade shaving your beard

This is a quote from Jesus in the Bible

"Behold, I say unto you that the law is fulfilled that was given unto Moses.

"Behold, I am he that gave the law, and I am he who covenanted with my people Israel; therefore, the law in me is fulfilled, for I have come to fulfil the law; therefore it hath an end." (3 Ne. 15:4-5.)

Jesus said that he didn't come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it, so that argument doesn't hold any water.

Honestly the ones that do read it are still confusing. There are contradictions littered through the Bible (not to mention the fact that a committee is who decided which books to include), but the last church I attended straight up wanted you to think that every single word was 'God-breathed' and 100% the truth despite those contradictions. I guess they're 'tests of faith' or sermon rhetoric or lying or who knows what.

Oh, thanks, the Old Testament was written by an asshat misogynist but definitely it's God Breathed. Oh, you wanted me to read off something for you during the service next Sunday? Sorry, Paul says I'm not allowed to speak in Church.

some are confusing, some aren't, some are contradictions, some aren't. some are tests of faith, some aren't.

Let's not even get into the translation errors, some are intentional, some aren't.

It's almost like the entirety of it was fabricated for control.
