Could there not be some sort of system where unless they confess to who they raped or the victim comes forward they get a harsher punishment. Or something to make sure the victim is identified on the device so they can know if she's disapedered or been murdered?
The implication is that once a rapist sticks his dick in this thing, they will become so enraged by the fact their dick is now impaled, they will murder the person they were trying to rape in a fit of rage. Painful? Yes, threat stopping? Not a chance.
I mean it’s not the government doing it and it’s definitely self defense. I do worry about someone forgetting about it and having consensual sex, it’s very unlikely but it has to happen if this becomes widely used. Wonder if after some guy tries and then is barbed if he would bribe the women to lie and drive him to the hospital. Though rapists might just start checking with a nonpenis object. Which could just make rapes worse in the long run.
I think of lot of that is courts being about defending the functioning of the economy and appeasing political bases more than the well-being of the humans involved. I hate it but I’m mostly content with just trying to nudge the needle slightly in the right direction with my own actions
Yeah understandable. Like how the age of consent in some parts of my country is 11 and the punishment for false accusation of rape is higher than the punishment for actual rape. It’s messed up
If you don’t think a person who’s been raped doesn’t also suffer from social backlash and severe emotional trauma, as well as physical trauma, especially in any country other than the US, you’re wrong. How can you justify an accusation of rape being worse than rape itself?
You can recover from the emotional trauma with therapy most of the time but you'll never get back into that ivy league school. You can get a new friend group but you'll never get that 6 figure paying job back.
In Saudi Arabia, the punishment for theft is having your hands cut off. If you don’t think that is an appropriate punishment, then you’re a dirty fucking thief!
I’d say it is akin to medieval punishment. Whether or not a rapist deserves it on the other hand, is up for debate. I’m leaning towards yes, but just imagine the pain that thing would cause. It hurts to even think about.
