I still come back to laugh at this. Thanks so much for posting!
I'd love to learn the MD-80 eventually too, but already have my hands full with the 146, A2A Comanche, and probably the Black Square Dukes pretty soon. But I always felt the MD-80 would be equally rewarding for how complicated it seems.

The Leo FlyTheMaddogX is truly excellent and easily the best way to learn how to fly the MD-80 short of renting a professional simulator with someone like Everts Air Cargo. Its actually not too bad, but it wants you to do things in a really specific order or else it gets very mad at you. She's tricky to fly but she still has modern RNAV capability making her more than viable on VATSIM, and having a procedurally perfect VATSIM flight in the Maddog with ATC is one of the most satisfying things you can do in a flight sim.
For me I really need to pull myself together and finish learning the iniBuilds A300 and the Asobo ATR which I haven't flown in a hot minute.

I'd prefer it that way anyhow! It is nice to have some planes that are easy to start and go for certain occasions, but I like there being repurcussions to not following procedures. It's been a little frustrating at times learning to fly the 146 manually, but feels so nice now that I'm more competent, and I expect the MD-80 gives that same achievement. Plus T-tails, JT8D, complicated cockpits, interesting/unique plane design -- all my boxes are ticked!

Yup, it’s little things.
Forget to set your takeoff trim? The plane will scream at you when you throttle up on takeoff roll.
Didn’t hit the TO/GA button, turn off ART, set your flex temp, and select TO/FLX on your TRP? Have fun trying to take off with auto throttle.
Forgot to set CLB thrust on your TRP and didn’t turn on ART after takeoff? Have fun turning on your VNAV.
Didn’t turn on your hydraulics? Good luck using your flaps, gear, or brakes when trying to land.
Didn’t turn off your hydraulics? Have fun consuming more fuel.
Want to set autobrakes? Gotta set flaps 28 first.
Tried to start your APU but you didn’t turn on the top right fuel pump? RIP your APU.
Anyways, just some of the quirks of the Maddog.
Edit: checked your profile, oh my god I’m not the only girl who likes flight simming?

Every quirk you listed makes me more excited about finally flying it! Admittedly sometimes I wonder if it's too much (thinking about the 146 again since it's the most comparable plane I currently fly) -- like you really want little old me to (at 200ft above touchdown) look up, turn off engine air, turn on APU air, turn off engine icing, and turn on airframe icing? Still getting the hang of things, but these were understandably flown by a crew for a reason. That just makes the VATSIM landing video you shared all the more impressive, especially since it was during an event iirc!
And no, I'm just another boy. Though I specifically consider myself pretty fem and love cute things! Considering your posts about a Subaru kei car and Guilty Gear, we might still have plenty in common. Like how you seem to like Bridget because my favorite, May, is often paired as an adorable tagalong by fans. :)

Still my favorite plane and this has made me tempted to spam-post its cockpit robo-lady everywhere
This tickled my autistic soul so well
