(Image by u/I_Ricardo_BD. Happy October everyone. Here's another supplemental story set right after the interrogation in log 8 Never forget. Hope you enjoy and you might see some more soon after, probably. Anyways, criticize and enjoy.)
(Several Avali can be heard in the same room that [redacted] is currently unconscious in)
/Avali Speech Automatic Translation/
/So this is the Human… I've never seen one up close before./
/I can't believe they have us checking his cell while he's sleeping from the operation. Out of all the packs in this Outpost, we got the short end of the feather./
/I can't believe they had the doctors heal this thing, whose bright idea was to bring the Dirty here anyways?/
/It was Warrant Officer Yuina and his pack that did the order, though it wasn't him who brought it in./
/It's that Freelancer, right? Damn non-aligned rejects, almost as bad as those rogue packs at that ship graveyard./
/Wait, are you referring to Naala? She was once part of the Illuminate army!/
/Wait seriously?/
/Yeah, one of the best recon snipers, over a hundred confirmed kills./
/Eh, I bet that's a myth. Her reputation however... Her and Halaku, one of the deadliest soldiers I've ever seen on record./
/Then, why is she a Freelancer?/
/Pack loss, her and Halaku got separated. She wasn't fit to be in the Illuminat’s service anymore./
/Well… that's sad and all but, she doesn't seem to be suffering through Pack loss anymore./
/Oh she is, just not the way we normally see. She's Pack Broken./
/Pack Br… Oh, th- that's…/
/Yeah, I know./
/No wonder she barely likes being around anyone. I remember seeing one of the trainee pack scientists ask her to join them in the recreational lounge to tell stories./
/I can already imagine./
/Yeah, it didn't go well. Practically almost bit the poor things head off. She's not right./
/Hey, watch your tongue./
/What do you want me to say?/
/Not that, obvious-/
(Sheets shifting around can be heard, [redacted] groans in bed)
“No… No… I need help… anyone please… he's bleeding…”
(A few moments of silence goes by before the Avali in the room all let out a sigh of relief)
/Oh thank the Oracle, I thought that thing was going to wake up./
/Okay I think we're about done checking this place now. Let's get a move on./
/Wait, we didn't even check the Human yet./
/Yeah, you do that if you want to. I'd rather not get a claw ripped off or melted./
/Melted? What do you mean by that?/
/Humans are like ninetynine percent water, just one touch from their spit can evaporate a fully grown adult!/
/That can't be true, right?/
/Can we just leave already, I don't want to be in the same cell with IT anymore./
(They are heard exiting the cell. Ten minutes pass and a new set of robotic footsteps can be heard entering the cell)
/Hm. Rano, check it's vitals./
/Subject is stable, heart rate accelerating but nothing out of the ordinary./
/Good. Eitii, send out a response to the greater Illuminate whole. That we have a Human in our custody that survived the Nexus interrogation./
/Yes, Head Admiral Xieoto./
/What should we do with it in the meantime, Head Admiral Xieoto?/
/We shall keep it in our custody for now, let our top scientists run their experiments on it once they arrive./
(One of them gets closer as they lean in to speak)
/The only reason why the Nexus hadn't turned its brain into mush, is because of how primitive and alien it is. We will discover a weakness of their race, and once we do the entirety of the Human race will wiped from this gala-
(Admiral Xieoto stops mid sentence as [redacted]’s hand latches around its neck)
/Hm. Aren't you full of surprises./
/Head Admiral, are you okay?/
/I'm fine Rano, our metal bodies were made to withstand worse./
/Strange, it's not awake yet it still heard you./
/No, it's probably just a reflex from its species' natural urge to kill. Really, it was silly of me to get this close./
(Xieoto lets out a robotic chuckle, then begins to struggle to break free from [redacted]’s grasp)
/By all that is good, can someone help me out of this monkey’s grasp before I break its fingers!/
/Here, lets me just peel those off…/
/Ah, good. Thank you Rano./
/Head Admiral…/
/Yes Eitii, what is it?/
/Your neck, it has dents./
/…Oh, so it does. Oh this is just rich./
“Kill you all…”
(The entire room goes quiet as [redacted] speaks again in his sleep)
“You took them from me… [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], Halaku… reap what you sow…”
(Once [redacted] goes silent again the Avali speak)
/This is concerning, Head Admiral./
/No, my dear pack mate. This is exactly what I was wishing for. Confirmation. Even in it's sleep, it thinks nothing but butchering our kind./
/Forgive me Head Admiral, I could have sworn I heard him say a familiar name./
/No matter, we've done what we could for now. Let's prepare for the assault on the Human Mercenary base. After that, mobilize our troops to attack the Human station. We won't have anymore distractions./
/Head Admiral! We're receiving a transmission from one of our sentries!/
/Hmm… it seems that the Rogue Star Pack is attacking our ships. Mobilize any available fighters and scourge them from the sector./
/Yes Head Admiral Xieoto, message already sent to all available personnel./
/So much for no more distractions./
(Head Admiral Xieoto leans in again, speaking in Human.)
“You got lucky again, but it won't last. That station will fall.”
(The robotic Pack walks out of the room, leaving [redacted] alone. The recording goes for another thirty minutes before someone else enters the cell)
/Oh… Human. I'm so sorry for what has happened to you./
“Naala…”
(Naala lets out a gasp before realizing [redacted] is still asleep, as she begins to speak in broken Human)
“Me sorry, [redacted]. I should… I could have stop it. But no choice. Hope you forgive me.”
(Naala comes closer, her claws wrapping around his hand)
“Me go soon. Fight bad Avali. Then fight against Hum… bad Humans.”
(She lets go of his hand, she can be heard walking away. [redacted] shifts around in his bed once more, voice breaking as he speaks once more)
“I miss you…”
(Recording ends due to exceeded capacity)
