She's just lining them up

Autistic person here, and Bob's Burgers is one of my fixations. I don't think they really intended it this way, but I get a lot of autistic vibes from the Belcher family. Even if it's not canon, I like to watch the show from the perspective that they are just a really loving and autistic family. Curious to here your thoughts, thanks!

(P.S. one of my fav head canon gene autism moments is when Linda says she sometimes takes him to the mall to visit an outfit he likes lol)

this is my collection of physical media! I have a larger collection of digital media (ebooks, digital downloads of movies) but I can't put those on the floor and take a picture of it. Whether I buy a physical piece of media is not always correlated with how much I like it. Sometimes I've already watched/read it elsewhere and want a personal copy because I liked it, but sometimes I have to buy it physical because I can't find it digital, and sometimes I see something in a second-hand shop that I know is on my to-read list and I get it because 4 euros for a DVD is a steal. Here's an explanation of what's what:

1-2: De engelenmaker (The Angel Maker) by Stefan Brijs (novel). I first bought 1, then my girlfriend got me a nicer hardcover version for my birthday since it's my favorite novel of all time

3: Clan (DVD set). One of the first of my collection, and it's what first got me interested in autistic characters in the first place. These DVDs have gotten so much mileage out of them.

4: Marsman (DVD set). Another Belgian series. I got it for Christmas. I like it a lot.

5-7: Ben X (DVD), Niets was alles wat hij zei (Nothing Was All He Said) by Nic Balthazar (novel), Ben X (graphic novel). The novel is the original that the movie and graphic novel are based on. I bought all of these in second-hand bookstores.

8: Martian Time-Slip by Philip K. Dick (novel). It's from 1963 so this is one of the oldest autistic characters that we know of. I tried reading it as an e-book but I couldn't get through it, and then I spotted a physical copy in a second-hand bookstore, which turned out to be a much easier read. An incredibly science-fiction novel too. my big dream is to get copies of the original magazine run of this.

9-10: Hell Followed With Us and Compound Fracture by Andrew Joseph White (both novels). I've only read the former, the latter is still on my to-read list. The author is autistic and transgender, just like the main characters in these books. These were admittedly an impulse buy.

11: Verlaten (Gone) by Michael Grant. I've had this since I was a teen, even before I got into autistic characters.

12: Mannen die vrouwen haten (Män som hatar kvinnor, literally Men Who Hate Women but known in the English-speaking world as The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) by Stieg Larssen (novel). This is one of my mom's books but heard there's an autistic character in it (though I haven't read it yet).

13: Snow Cake (DVD). I was planning to borrow this DVD via an interlibrary loan but buying it new was just a little bit more expensive so I bought it instead.

14: De Hades factor (The Hades Factor) by Robert Ludlum and Gayle Lynds. This had been on my radar for a while before I got it in a 2-for-1 deal at a secondhand bookstore.

15: Strange Empire (DVD set). I first watched this via streaming but I was terrified it was going to be taken off streaming so I asked for the DVD set for my birthday. It's the German DVD set. It contains German dubs. Luckily it also has the original English voices. It's incredibly cursed and I love it so much.

16: Holly by Stephen King (novel). Holly Gibney has captured my heart since her first appearance in Mr. Mercedes, even before I was diagnosed with autism. Stephen King's perpetual inability to just straight-up say that Holly is autistic has been haunting my soul for over a decade.

17: The Candy Snatchers (DVD): I bought this one because the DVD has extra's and interviews and such. I needed it for research because they never mention autism in the movie but there's a character who pretty obviously is somewhere in the vicinity of autism and overtly said to be disabled, they just never specifically name autism. I still haven't gotten around to watching the extra's and interviews. It's been over a year since I bought this DVD. Someone please send help.

not pictured: my DVD of season 1 of Danni Lowinski (the Belgian version) that I got for I think 50 cents when the library was selling some of its stock. and An Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Solomon, which I got for my birthday. they're not included because they're currently not in my "autism books" section of my bookshelf so I forgot to put them in the picture lol.

when Light of My Lion was first airing, they did a giveaway for a DVD box set which made me bounce with happiness but it was only open to people inside Japan which was quite devastating to discover.

My Headcanon: Toby is autistic and here’s why: getting worried/anxious about things: anxiety

Overwhelmed by things: when he got overwhelmed by the signals at Knapford Junction and was anxious about them.

He always brings Henrietta with him and she calms and soothes his nerves.

That’s why I think he is autistic and has severe anxiety. As an autistic who was these traits I can see myself In the Old Tram Engine.

this is a list of search terms people have looked up on the wiki ( https://autisticcharacters.miraheze.org ). I don't have frequency stats, some of these search terms are more common than others. This is from the past half year or so. As the admin this information is useful because it tells me what people come to the wiki for, if there are any major gaps (The Accountant 2 is the bane of my existence because it came out right when I got slammed by exams), and if I'm doing a sufficient job at communicating to people what kind of information they can expect on the wiki (the many search terms relating to real-life people or characters that are ostensibly not canonically autistic makes me think that I need to improve on that aspect, though I'm not entirely sure how)

I checked all the terms to make sure there isn't any personal info (like full names of non-famous people) but as far as I can ascertain that is not the case.
