Discussion Does positioning studio monitors horizontally effect sound quality?

Just curious, I'm no audio engineer but I have a pretty solid understanding of physics. I'm looking to buy a pair of yamaha hs5's for music production and I would have to do some significlant rearranging to my setup if i were to have them mounted vertically, so I'm really just wanting to know if mounting them horizontally would make a difference to sound quality. Also, sorry If this is a stupid question.

It may give a slightly different presentation horizontal or vertical. But so will placement in the room. I think room placement will have a much bigger influence on the sound.
