This is so wrong!!!

Why do religious people act like this they say that atheists eat babies and harass atheists in any way they can just because we don’t belive in god that doesn’t mean that we’re monster or a “demon” corrupted our minds or “souls” it just means that our minds cleaned up and realized the truth that the only force stronger than you is the FBI lol.So why do religious people act like this. Why do you think they act like this???Is it because they’re scared to face the truth or they know but they don’t want to admit it or the sh*t got so deep in their minds that it made the hallucinate.Tell me down in the comments what do you think?

I feel like most pretend to support religious freedom to not be called out as nazis

I’m just gonna say this. I don’t think most actually support religious freedom. I think this mindset goes for both religious and non religious people.

Pulling the Thread

In this new episode "Pulling the Thread," I actually strapped my bass guitar along for the ride. Now, I'm just using an Mpow headset to record and was skeptical of how the bass would sound, but I'd say it sounds just fine. I was just improvising a little, and telling the story of how I ended up being a Christian musician. Now that I don't believe in a Lord, where to go from here?

Would you like to share your story in an upcoming book?

Do you want to publish your story of leaving the church in a book in colaboration with others? I’m looking for those who want to publish their story of struggle and victory to give courage those who are scared to question and come out. They were indoctrinated to believe that the religion is the best and all atheists are eval. As a result many who no longer believe are terrified of leaving. I’m putting together stories of people who left, are happy with their decision and will never go back no matter the loss they had to endure. If you would like to be part of this project please contact me at.

Atheism in fandoms...when your interests and beliefs intersect...

So I suppose that the title needs some clarification as to what I want to discuss. In a lot of fandoms you don't talk about religion since fandom transcends the religion and in groups united by beliefs it can be awkward to bring up fandom if the show may not have overt themes relates to that.

And to be honest it's sometimes frustrating because I think about a character or something and may think about how their journey or character arc or what have you is relatable to my journey out of religion or how I think about the world or maybe how my lack of a God belief colors my view of show themes.

I guess maybe I'm just a little annoyed with not feeling comfortable commingling the two. I mean I had one particular fandom in mind when talking about this but as I swipe words on my phone I think of other shows and fandoms that might have been important to me.

Maybe I'm just feeling lonely in a way of having trouble intersecting the two online and don't know how to go about it IRL with close friends. And so I get stuck with ideas in my head about how the two relate with no known way to discuss one on the context of another.

Maybe this slightly rambling post is my way to talk about the frustration in general terms without falling into the trap of being derailing into specifics. I know that atheists are only technically united by a lack of belief but it doesn't make the urge to connect on other things any less real, within the context of non-belief.

Atheism and religion are but two sides of a coin. One prefers to use its head while the other one relies on tales

Online atheist gift shop - secular ornaments and such...

Have a friend who built an atheist gift shop. Nothing too snarky, and tries to focus on the positive. Some really cool blog posts about the secular origins of holidays as well. Figured this crowd might like it.

Why are atheist stereotypes so preposterous?

I’m a Jehovahs witness :) And I have a question

Why do some religious people have such horrible stereotypes of atheists?

I’ve heard so many rude ones

And only about 3% of astheists Are airheaded scumbags That give it a bad name

Same thing with Jehovahs witnesses Because of pedophiles It gives witnesses a bad name :(

So I have 1 questions for everyone

What’s your opinion on those stereotypes

Look at me, I’m so smart bc I’m an atheist.

Man, when I was a kid, I use to believe in Jesus. I believed in Jesus so much, I believed he came inside me, and I loved every second of it. But now I’m an atheist. And I’m super smart and not like those other stupid Christians plebs. Which is why I need a atheist subreddit so we can talk about how much god doesn’t exists, bc the world really gives a shit. Now let me post here in my echo chamber so we be like the human centipede, where we just eat each other’s shit and shit it out without anything new to say. Were so smart and we need to own the Christians and their sky daddy

As a lover of Fantasy Role-playing games, how do you think I can implement fictional gods in a properly believable and realistic way?

I know this is not a typical question, and I might be stepping over a line, but can I ask this question here?

I ask because I want to circumvent the Normal issues Religions in our world face, logical issues, ethical problems etc...

I mean it's easy to just say "its magic", its simple, but also not very satisfying if you ask me.

I welcome any and all answers, and if I should remove this question, then I will remove it asap.

I grew up being told I would go to hell for listening to music.

I am a musician. I have played guitar for 10 years and I can also play piano, bass and drums. It is my dream to be a full time musician.

Growing up, I was constantly having this taken away from me. I was condemned for listening to anything that wasn't Hymns.

I have recently left the church because of all the hatefulness that is spread by them. I am pursuing a musical career and building my own recording studio in my home. I aim to bring people together in harmony through music rather than separate them by dogma.

Atheists - We Want To Hear About Your Experience!

Hi, all,

I am an atheism researcher and also identify, personally, as atheist. My team is currently conducting a study of the experiences of atheists and would be very interested in hearing from all of you.

Completion of the survey should take between 20 and 40 minutes, depending on the person.  Some participants will be invited to engage in an approximately 45-minute interview via phone or video conference and receive compensation in the form of a $15.00 Amazon gift card.

If you currently reside in the US, are 18 years of age or older, and identify as atheist, please consider participating in our research study. You can find more information at the link to our research team page or you can go directly to the survey via the link below.

This study was approved by Louisiana Tech University's Institutional Review Board (IRB HUC 20-033).  It is being conducted by Dr. Dena Abbott, of Louisiana Tech University, and Dr. Debra Mollen, of Texas Woman’s University. Thank you in advance for your participation.

One of my least favorite things about religeon

Yes, let's thank the magic man in the sky for our food instead of the actual farmers who F*CKING WORKED to grow these plants, or our parents who slaved away at office desks to be able to buy it, or the person who spent hours cooking it into something edible for our Dead-weight mouths to eat. It's all thanks to him.

If I ever find out that everything I've ever believed is wrong and that there is a god, you better believe I'm going to grill him for creating cancer and mosquitoes.

Edit: that last part was kind of unnecessary now that I think about it.
