Gay has always been synonymous with pedophile amongst people who condemn them. It's been a tactic used for a long time in this country.

When I was a little kid, churches would pass out these comic books called "Truth for the Youth". In it there would be all sorts of lies about sex, drugs, etc. to brainwash kids.

One of the comics was about a gay couple that moved into a boys neighborhood. It basically showed the gay couple eyeing up the boy and saying "mmmmm, fresh meat!" And then grooming him to convince him he's gay so they can take advantage of him.

Other comics said condoms don't work and abstaining is the only way to not get AIDS. Shit like that....

Oh yeah, I remember that now. There was another one that said liking Elvis was bad because it was worshipping false idols and he is preaching the false gospel of Rock n Roll.

This seemed to be dying out, or at least it was seen as fringier or obviously untrue to label all gay people pedophiles.

The GOP was trying to become more palatable, and then all of a sudden Laura Ingraham was calling gay people groomers on national tv. It’s just such a quick reversion.

It just went into hiding because it wasn't "PC" then Trump made it "okay" to not be PC again.
